We are three games in, and the Gophers have found themselves in multiple 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 situations. Instead of running a sneak with our 6’ 5”, 230 pound QB under center, we have opted to do one of the following:
  1. Run a TE sneak
  2. Run wildcat with a fake handoff 3 yards behind the line
  3. Hand it off to the RB who started 6 yards behind the line
Why do we think this is?

drake snuck it against NW St on a 4th down and has a sneak for a TD (also against NW St)

Would go more with its not his game and they likely don't want him taking any hits

Just went back and watched. He did have a sneak for a first down, but his TD was a read-option run from shotgun.
