Week 3 Other Games Thread

Looks like Buffalo pulled off the win in the end. Northwestern State meanwhile is down 21-0 against Cinncy in the first quarter.

Early Big Ten in the books:
  • Maryland 44-17 over Towson
  • Nebraska 76-7 over Houston Christian
  • Michigan 63-3 over Central Michigan
  • Alabama 38-14 over Wisconsin
  • Oregon 34-14 over Northwestern
35-0 in the first now.

The USC-Purdue lightning delay reminds me of when we got evacuated to Mackey Arena during the 2017 Purdue-Minnesota game.

Not a great day for the Gophers but at least I was one of the ones who got taken to the luxury seats at Mackey and not herded into the concourse!

Those poor kids from Northwestern St. might never be right after this season. They won't get a dime but they deserve every penny their school is getting paid to line up these embarrassing massacres.
No doubt - I hope the players are traveling in style and gourmet-fed for the beatings they're taking in the name of guaranteed payouts.

Man, I just flipped on the Texas game and Arch throws 3 horrendous incompletes in a row. His uncle Rico delivery is atrocious.

4/11 for 58 INT

Nebraska only scored 59.

Im still trying to figure what Wisconsin is trying to be...my theory is Fickell cant get the players he had at Cinncy into Wisconsin....unless those academic standards have been relaxed. Whatever it is, they've lost their blueprint.
Don’t overthink it. Cincinnati was the biggest school to offer Desmond Ridder out of HS so he went there. Fickell was there and rode a big talent to success in a shallow pool.

It was assumed that he was a good to great coach because of the success of the best QB to ever play at Cincy.

Those assumptions were wrong.

Lightning delays in Lubbock, West Lafayette, and Miami

It's that time of year

Down goes Clemson.
Dabo's seat might not be hot yet, but it's warming up. Many had thought they had a very good chance to make the playoff this year and could win the ACC with a senior laden team. Here they sit three weeks in, and they need to win out to have any chance with their 2 losses.

Certainly possible, though it's wild to me a coach who won two titles at a non-blue blood could be on the hot seat. I get expectations were raised, but looking at his track record makes it seems like a step too far.

He’s had 11 division titles/conference title game berths, 9 conference titles, 2 national titles, 15 ranked finishes, 8 top 10 finishes, 7 playoff berths, 4 national title game berths and 13 10+ win seasons. I feel like that gives a coach a lot of leeway.

Sun Belt team Arkansas State with 16 points against ISU. Three more than the Hawkeyes had and game still going.

Poor Tennessee fans. Gut wrenching loss. Georgia looked like the better team to me though. I find the Volunteer offense to be too gimmicky for my liking. No ability to sustain drives or keep the other team off the field.

Iowa St just isn't that good. They are decent, but they'd get rolled by either Tennessee or Georgia by 35+.

Heupel lost that game more than the kicker in my opinion. 7 seconds left, TO left, 3rd down, kick it. He didn’t, lost 5 yards and iced his own kicker. Choked.

I was happy to see Cletus #1 (Dabo) go down. I was hoping Cletus #2 (Kirby) would join him in defeat, but alas, one can't have everything in life.

For as easy as Indiana's schedule has been so far (3 huge cupcakes), they could easily lose their next 4 games and lose 6-7 on the year. Their schedule is way harder than last year...

Unfortunately I get the feeling that without these P4 bodybag games the program wouldn't have enough money to exist.

According to this site, the buyout for the end of this season actually went up to $44M with the new contract extension he signed this year.

Fickell contract
Whisky signed Fickell to an extension this year? Gonna be one of the all time mistakes by an AD. Alvarez must be completely severed from Badger football.

Arch 11/25 today. That sark hasn’t fixed his mechanics in his years there is such poor coaching

Illinois looks like ass.

They had a 4th and 1 stop just before the half to be up 10-0

Ohio State is destroying Ohio on the stat sheet but the score is very close in the 2nd half
