Brosmer in Vikings Game

Correct. True for most schools I think. They major in biology or chemistry, or some other science degree (or some combination of).

Yep. He gets a big raise to the rookie minimum if he makes the team.
Yes, and the gap to Rypien's salary is minimal, so the decision won't be made based on savings. A good showing from Max this week should help solidify him as QB3. I did not realize the Gophs FB team was at the game last Saturday.

Just curious. What kind of seats did they get?

The article on the Vikings today in "The Athletic" ended positively on how Max looked in the joint scrimmage yesterday against the Patriots. Man, I wish we could have had him for two years.

"Undrafted rookie quarterback Max Brosmer built on his impressive preseason debut. On Wednesday, facing a blitz-all defensive picture from the Patriots, he lobbed a deep ball down the left sideline to receiver Tim Jones.

Brosmer sounds like a longtime professional. He discussed Wednesday how much he’s learned from O’Connell, quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and the rest of the staff in a short stint. Replicate his production Saturday or even next week, and he’ll further cement a job on the 53."

Pats at Vikings. Brosmer’s stock continues to climb without him playing…

Great to have KO narrate! Man ugly series with Brosmer and he hurt himself by kicking himself. He’s limping.

So, sorry not to derail the thread too much, but .....

if Brosmer is this high level of a talent -- and good on whichever of the Gopher coaching staff found him and/or green lit him coming here -- ..... then how did we lose at home to North Carolina, a team we had no business losing to, and get blown out at home in the 2nd half vs Iowa?

After that (first half of Michigan was bad too, but after that the light switch flipped) was much better.

What happened?? We had a NFL QB on our roster, but still struggled those two games? Why?

Even if we win just the UNC game, that might have been enough to have a significantly higher rated bowl last year, wouldn't it?

Max has looked solid. OL and penalties screwed him. A couple of misses but solid so far.

KOC is mic'd up live and seems really complimentary of him too. His F bomb was hilarious.

NFL starter Drake Maye was 8-5 his last year of college football.

Hard to get a read when it's 3rd-stringers v. 3rd-stringers, but he looks decisive and while his arm isn't a cannon, he can get the ball there. His macro-accuracy (putting the ball in the vicinity of the receiver) is excellent. His micro-accuracy of putting it where the receiver can do the most with the catch needs a little work, but again, he's throwing to a lot of guys who will be looking for work in September so part of the responsibility lies with them. His long arm looked pretty good. It's not the strength of his game, but he can get it out there.

I think the Vikings will be shopping for a QB2, but that likely means little or nothing to Brosmer. They will try to find a veteran back-up and that would mean the end for both Rypien and Howell. They probably see Brosmer as a development guy that they want to hang on to and if they put him on the practice squad he might be somewhere else in a week.

Look up how Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen’s teams did in college, and they are a little better than an undrafted borderline QB3.

Patrick Mahomes played 2 full seasons in college at Texas Tech. In his last season his team's defense gave up an average of 43.5 points per game, and that included 3 cupcakes.

Josh Allen played 2 seasons at Wyoming. His last season they went 8-3 in games he played with losses to Oregon, at Iowa, and at Boise St.
