Pierce Petersohn to announce tomorrow!!!

have YOU been there? My kids have competed against Triton in pretty much every sport so I've been there many times. I'd objectively say the school and facilities are probably in the top 1/3 or 1/4 of rural schools of its size around the state from what I've experienced.
I have and my point was in reaction to a comment that Penn State has nothing to offer and is in the middle of no where etc....something along the lines of nothing to offer but the school. I don't see Triton too much differently. The school is the heart beat of the area. I'm aware they have manufacturing...but they don't have shopping, fine dining or entertainment beyond Kwik Trip. That's all...just easy for me to see how someone who goes to Triton could be comfortable at Penn State.

Many gopherholers are surprised to learn that there's electricity and internet outside the 494/694 beltway. If there isn't congestion, musical theater, occasional riots and gang violence, there's "nothing to do" and the place must be a dump, especially if a 17 year old kid from there decided to go to school elsewhere.
As someone that lives outside the 694/494 loop, I also am surprised how many people think that the only thing that exists in the city is gang violence and congestion. The misconceptions go both ways. Both places can be good to live in. Different strokes for different folks.

My comment was half in jest. I grew up playing Triton in sports, so grew up well outside of the 494/694 loop. Sorry if it came off as snobby. If anything I am more anti-twin cities.

And yes they make a mean fire truck/ garbage truck etc…

So does the Kwik Trip qualify as shopping, fine dining, or entertainment? Or is it a triple threat?

I also acknowledged musical theater and occasional riots.

Ahh yes, Triton High School located in Dodge Center. This brought back memories of the infamous "Suess Gang" that ran rampant in that area back in the 80's.

I come here for posts like this. Crazy!

Always fascinating to see how an individual’s preference can easily be distilled into 1 binary issue.

Very true but if you live in a small town it is easy to see how somebody could find Penn St attractive. I looked at their roster...it only lists birthplace...so not real helpful....but the majority of players were born in PA.
Nobody from Miami or Chicago or LA....the opposite of small town.
Mostly, it is like you say...he likes his recruiter, their tradition or something else but the small town rural feel I'm guessing didn't hurt.
