I was there. Silenced the Auburn faithful. I think they assumed victory was inevitable until that play. Great memory!
The Auburn and Colorado games were incredible Gopher traveling experiences and because of the Covid season they were back-to-back fan opportunities. The Tyler Johnson touchdown and the Lawrence Maroney 80 yard touchdown run at Michigan in 2004 were the most exciting plays I’ve seen in my 30 or so road games. (The long circle route touchdowns at Northwesten & Iowa in 1999 are runners-up.)

We are now 64 days away from Gopher football!

Da'Jon McKnight 64 yard touchdown pass from MarQueis Gray vs Michigan State in 2011

One of three that day for McKnight, ended up being a good game. That season wasn't always pretty but the team showed heart there, against USC, and in the wins over Illinois and Iowa.

63!

On September 4, 2004 - The 24th ranked Gophers crushed Toledo 63-21, after calling off the dogs mid fourth quarter with the score 63-7.

Wasn't that the game where Goldy undressed the Rocket mascot? Staged or not, it was hilarious.

62!

We've got a fun one for 62. No less than a special 62 yard field goal in a packed Metrodome by Chip Lohmiller to put the Gophers up over the Squawks 17-0 at half, just one week after beating Meat Chicken. November 22, 1986.

Unfortunately after a dominant first half, the Gophers would go on to lose this game in a way that characterized the UofM Metrodome experience. The game was memorable for a late-game penalty that allowed Iowa to kick a game-winning field goal after initially missing the attempt.
