That gives him nine extra-base hits in 44 at-bats with the TwinsShould they sign Clemens to a 5 year extension or 10 year?
On This Date in 2009: The day after going 4-for-6 in a 20-1 win over the White Sox, Michael Cuddyer hits for the 10th cycle in Twins history.
Cuddy hit a three-run homer in the first, driving in the classic combo of Mauer and Morneau.
Unfortunately Amick has been hurt since the end of April. Some hitters doing well for Twins in minors. All these are primarily infielders except for GG.

Gabe Gonzalez interesting. Has just been moved up to Wichita and off to a good start there as well.
Twins: Gabriel Gonzalez, OF (No. 17)
The Twins were hoping they were getting a prospect on the rise when they acquired Gonzalez from the Mariners in return for Jorge Polanco ahead of the 2024 season. But in his first season with the organization, he posted just a .707 OPS. A return to High-A Cedar Rapids has seemingly been a smart developmental move for the outfielder as he hit .319/.378/.529 with 18 extra-base hits through his first 34 games to earn his first bump up to Double-A.
Probably wanted it a little lower but the pitch was still out of the strike zone. Batter did a good job staying on the ball.Wow—calling a breaking ball on two strikes against their hottest hitter. Go with your best stuff with the game on the line. Too bad: a sweep there for the taking and grabbing another win with Buxton out of the lineup. Need production from Lewis and Wallner & Buxton back in the lineup.
High of 90 in Tampa tomorrow, so I am guessing the players and fans with tickets appreciate the game being under the lights.Playing a night game on Memorial Day should be illegal.
Plus Rocco's back to Swingin' Vazquez catching every other game. He couldn't stay on the wagon I guess. Add in Kiersey playing half the time and you're crippling an already struggling line-up.They're going through one of their "struggle to score" periods. Right now, only Correa is hitting with France and Jeffers adding a little.

Buxton traveled with the team so I would expect him to be back soon. Wallner surprisingly did not. They must want him to get some more at bats for St Paul first.Could use Buck and Wallner back.
Meanwhile it’s the endless wait for Twins to return from injuries—it’s a long ten days for Wallner playing rehab ball with the Saints. I appreciate Buxton is with the team in Tampa but it’s been almost two weeks—when do we become concerned he has an even more serious concussion issue? Same problems year over year: living with the Vazquez contract and no adequate (hitting) back-up center fielder. Trying to dodge the outs long term kills the offense.Plus Rocco's back to Swingin' Vazquez catching every other game. He couldn't stay on the wagon I guess. It's so Jeffers can play more often. He's started 10 out of the last 11 games. If he's starting 2 or 3 games in a row, then he's likely going to get more full days off. Vazquez's bat sucks but so do the other guys that would replace him if he is playing less. At least this way we get Jeffers hot bat in the lineup more.Plus Rocco's back to Swingin' Vazquez catching every other game. He couldn't stay on the wagon I guess. I'll disagree. Jeffers can catch 4-5 a week and still DH once/week. Last night we basically sat Brooks Lee for Vazquez. That's a big downgrade. It's so Jeffers can play more often. At least they tried to address CF this year but Bader is a constant nagging injury these days too.Meanwhile it’s the endless wait for Twins to return from injuries—it’s a long ten days for Wallner playing rehab ball with the Saints. I think they are being more cautious with Buxton because it's his 4th documented concussion, so it's inherently a longer process.Meanwhile it’s the endless wait for Twins to return from injuries—it’s a long ten days for Wallner playing rehab ball with the Saints.
