Don't get me wrong, I wish Shedeur nothing but the best. It looks like he's going to have to do it the hard way, relatively speaking, moving forward. A lot of competition to be the Browns starting quarterback. It will be an amazing battle! Their quarterback room includes Deshaun Watson (injured), Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur.

"Sales couldn’t have been too brisk on 2Legendary (Shedeur’s) website, which offered two T-shirts and a hoodie ranging from $75 to $100 (each)."

Lots of commentary on his draft. Every NFL locker room has gifted athletes but to be successful the team needs them to reign in their egos for the betterment of the team. I don’t know if he can or can’t do that but many teams obviously were questioning both his talent n character. I do think calling yourself “ legendary “ b4 playing any NFL games suggests he has a lot of work ahead of him.

I think Shedeur is a first round talent, but what he would do your locker room is why he had trouble getting selected, in my opinion. Jealousy is a real thing...Shedeur brings a circus similar to Aaron Rodgers without his NFL accomplishments. Too much media frenzy all about Shedeur will be very disruptive.

Rodgers wasn't a distraction early in his career. In fact, he took over for a distraction. The Sanders family is a walking distraction and would be from the minute he stepped on the pratice field.

My question is did he slide or is that his talent level??? GMs aren’t idiots unless the kid just stunk it up in pre draft meetings. And I’d so I hope his dad tones it back if he don’t want his other son to “ slide”…

I read that he was arrogant in interviews. He and his dad told teams what they expected and the way they wanted things to be once they were on the team. Dad also made the comment that if a team drafts him that they don't like then they would hold out until the next draft.

Lottery ticket for the Browns.....if he gets his act together they got a potential high round talent in the 5th round. If he doesn't they can just cut him and they are not out much.

Shedeur has to get himself ready to compete for a starting job for probably the first times in his career.

Mine cost me even more than that

He didn’t slide. He had no entitlement to a first round contract

He'll make up the $44 million by doing an endorsement for Chutes and Ladders.

He'll be a cancer in the locker room. Just like Jimmy Bulter or Stephen Diggs, demands a trade and refuse to play.
The bigger issue was his skills not his character. He doesn't have a great arm and put up big numbers against bad teams and really struggled against quality competition. He just isn't a very good prospect.

I think it's a combination. When you have elite talent, NFL teams will take you and do some combination of assuming they can work on the weird sideshow baggage and hoping it doesn't become a problem. When you are a good not great college qb like Sanders, there are enough other options in your talent tier that they can pick from options who they may not prefer strictly from an on field perspective, but are close enough that they are content to avoid the headache.

If Sanders were viewed as the best QB in the draft, the Coach Prime circus wouldn't have mattered. But since he wasnt, I still think he would have gone sooner than 5th round if it weren't for the clown show.

Think this pretty much nails it.

Never understood the top 5 draft pick projections, didn't think there was any way an NFL team would want to risk their franchise by taking him that high. He has talent but doesn't have the leadership qualities needed to be an NFL QB. Then you factor in the family circus that comes with his dad and it is even more reason for teams to stay away.

Browns taking Shedeur in the 5th round makes sense as a lottery ticket. They have other options so if he doesn't pan out they can just cut him. But if he does they got a high end talent really cheap.

That and all the bragging about turning around a program by himself.
