All things Players Coming and Going.

he's also from Michigan and maybe thought i really like the coach and team and will have the net for 2 years. i get you're bitter right now, but this is hardcore reaching for really no reason.
I just don't see a reason to be any more excited than Souliere, which wasn't exciting and proved to be accurate. Souliere at least had tons of NCAA experience and a couple big games in the NCAA on the positive side.

i don't disagree that it's not like signing Augustine instead of Di Pasquo, but I also don't view this immediately as we're out purely on the basis of goaltending or we couldn't win with him.

last year was undrafted Matt Davis (who is 6'1" and played no postseason games before last year). Year before undrafted Yaniv Perets (who is 6'1"). Some guys play better when the lights are on. Di Pasquo was awesome in the GLI this year and the only loss he's ever taken was a game he came on relief during which Augustine game up 3 goals in the first period and he took the loss because MSU scored 4 goals in the game (they lost 6-5 with AF getting and ENG). He's played well at every level he's been at so hopefully this continues.

this team isn't winning or losing based on the goalie next year imo (there are numerous other holes as they stand right now that are more glaring post adding Di Pasquo, and even prior)

If they make some massive pickups, the limiting factor will once again be back to goaltending.

As of right now the D unit is a massive issue and this team is going to look like some of the late Lucia teams when the offense could never get started from the D. The two big D men coming in remind me of Collins/Glover coming in for Lucia near the end. Just didn't develop into what they were expected to at time of commitment.

agree to disagree on the goalie situation. nowhere near the issue you're making it out to be

the D core worries me, agree entirely and that is where I think the bigger issue is currently if we're going to try play the same open style. if we decide to go tighter checking and a 200ft game, their size will be nice to have but it's going to take being on the right side of a lot of 3-2 games throughout the year just to dance.

Lots of rumblings on Twitter the gophers are flipping, buying, a Mankato commit. It’s not Mason Kraft though.

Tate Pritchard. A solid point producer, another winger... Can put up decent points in his career but need bigger guns than that to compete next year and still need 1C and 2C for big time college hockey.

UMD backup goalie, who seems to have better stats than the starter, in the portal. Freshman 3 years left I think. Clayton Knapp

But Gajan was big and drafted so that settles it

In reality that Duluth team is bad so it does not surprise me to see players flying the coop

Gajan is the better goalie. What planet are you on, he's going to turn into an absolute beast hence the backup bouncing

It’s a joke. Lighten up Francis. Tbh neither of them was very good this year, but their problems run drastically deeper than the person in net

Carsen Musser (big drafted MN goalie) in the portal with 3 years eligibility left. Likely means Mbereko is back.

Isaac Howard is going to go back to MSU. Head and shoulders Big Ten favorites.

Cayden Lindstrom (1 - 4)
Isaac Howard (1 - 21)
Charlie Stramel (1 - 31)

Maxim Strbak (2 - 45)
Colin Ralph (2 - 48)
Tyson Jugnauth - 89 point WHL D

Trey Augustine (2 - 41)

And not done yet. Gophers currently with no 1st OR 2nd rounders. YIKES. When what the last Gopher roster with that? Going to check, but feels like a longgggg time.

Michigan hockey Twitter with the eye emoji let's see who it is. This might just be Perron or someone like Hughes coming back.

Gopher program has been left in the dust by NIL power of the big 4.

Please link the source that says the "Big 4" have more NIL money for hockey than MN.

Just wait and watch who goes where in the next month or two. Motzko went from flipping Fabers and Cooleys to flipping Mankato recruits.

It's the same source that said the move to the Big Ten killed the program for good.
Ah... him. I forgot. Ok, then it was silly of me to be skeptical.

Seriously I'm betting MN hockey is in pretty good shape for NIL funds.

Bob might steal not one but two undrafted Mankato recruits. His retirement tour team might hit 20 wins if the noncon schedule is weak enough!

So... Motzko was good at recruiting a few years ago but he sucks now? And the reason he sucks is because we don't have enough NIL money? That would mean we had enough money a few years ago but not now, or that Bob was just better then. To be fair I have stated that I think it's time for a change as well. But I like to think my view is at least objective. Do you think this program has any advantages at all? Anything? I have seen you complain about the coaching, the recruiting, the players, the city, Dinkytown specifically, the campus, the lack of NIL funds, Mark Coyle and the university itself. So with that view... why would any recruit come here? But on the other hand, you think that Bob should be pulling in every decent player, despite all of those terrible things about Gopher hockey that you have pointed out. Chasing your own tail.

Congrats, you finally made my "ignore" list.

You’re a miserable sports fan and if you’re anything like this in your day to day life then I feel sorry for the people around you who have to deal with it.

He had the big guns before NIL really hit college hockey and UM/MSU/BC/BU separated themselves. And yes, unfortunately for him the woke university is hurting too hence parents of kids like Berchild not wanting their kid going there.

I don't think anyone can look at his recruiting the last year and a half and say it's been at what we'd historically expect.
