The scandals that have happened since at other "blue blood" schools dwarf what happened in Minnesota by a country mile. UNC ran a fraudulent degree program for over two decades. But they found the loophole in saying the classes were available to "everyone", not just athletes, therefore, no need to vacate wins, championships or anything else. Never mind the rest of the student body knew nothing of the classes - only athletes on the football and basketball teams were made aware. But had another student known, technically they could have taken it. What a load of BS. Minnesota could have simply said Ganglehoff's Writing Services were available to all students, too. There, problem solved.
And then we have Penn St. For the love of God they harbored and covered up a convicted pedophile who molested young boys within their own facilities, under full knowledge of the legendary coach and most likely university leadership. It went on unfettered for years. They should have gotten the death penalty. They got off easy with what - a four year post-season ban? Whoopie. Figuratively speaking, we got jail time for a speeding ticket. They got probation and a stern talking to for committing multiple murders.
Hang the damn banner back up.
