Agree to disagree on this one.
I don’t hate it, since it’s a high water mark for us and has only happened twice since 2004 (incorrectly noted as 1990 in my previous post), so twice in 19 years, thus far, with this being the 20th season. This encompasses four different coaching staffs: Monson, Tubbster, Jr. Pitino and Gentle Ben.
It’s a realistic goal and if they win 10, then they gave a shot at the real tournament. Players hate unrealistic goals in my experience; my sophomore year we had a good core of baseball players and our coach put up the sign that said State Tournament here we come - a reach, but the mumbling wasn’t a cacophony. Half the starters got kicked off the team for partying and the sign still stayed up, the mumbling was heard throughout the MidWest and the coach, lost the team.
