Gopher Softball 2024

Schwartz had trouble finding the zone. Walked 3 but escaped without giving up a run.

Burnett gets on and DeBord can't even get her over for the big bats coming up. When you can't even do the little things, how do you expect to compete against the top teams.

Krapf already used re-entry, tough decision if it's tied in bottom to pull her for PR

See if DeBord had gotta Burnett over to second, Chavez's hit probably would've won the game.

Exactly! Definitely going to be tough to score off of Kentucky’s ace now. Had chances.

New year same story. Can’t get the big time wins. I wish this program could recruit some hitters. Next weekend could be ugly if we’re going to rely on two pitchers.

Not a fan of Schwartz hitting and playing the field. Her bat is a big struggle and it leads to being tired in the field. When she’s on pitching she’s been great but then totally with go on a streak of walking batters.
I was wondering about this...good strategy or not.

This is crazy talk. They are recruiting talent way above their expected level.

Gopher softball Fans really need to understand the power realities of college softball and be pleased as to what this program has been able to provide to us fans.

Who are these recruits you talk about? (And yes, I know we have Chavez, Oakland, and Krapf - great start.)

Sorry but I guess we can agree to disagree.

Turned out to be a tough weekend. I would have been real happy with a 3-1. Hopefully nerves were the issue and not talent this past weekend.

It's not nerves, they've faced ranked opponents before. It all comes down to execution, whoever can make the most plays while limiting their errors. UK scores the winning run on a Gopher throwing error.

Those three right there are all way above our league. I very much love that we have them on our team and I hope they love being Gophers. But they could easily all be playing for big time Southern or West Coast teams.

Using d1 rankings for upcoming weekend. Need to at least beat GT and win 1 of others

Washington #6 (3-1 lost to Oklahoma)

Georgia tech (3-3 split Nova 1-3 1-5 Bama run ruled Longwood twice)

Stanford #13 (3-2 lost Kentucky twice. Face #3 Tennessee #2 Texas the day before so should be tired)

Georgia #5 (5-0 easy opponents)

LSU #9 (5-0 with 47-0 margin easy opponents)

That’s a really big ask/demand.

I am hoping for one win and a group of Gopher pitchers that collectively don’t let any games get out of control.

Our team performance this season will depend so much on the performance of our pitchers in the circle and this coming weekend will obviously be their ultimate test.

Jordy Bahl medical redshirt for ACL injury for Nebraska

I didn't get to watch any of last week-ends games but from the box score I thought there were a lot of positives. Great to see Ehlke and Oakland swinging for power vs good pitching. Breezy getting some hits was really good. Breezy is such an amazing athlete if she finds her swing she will be dangerous. I like how the coaches are getting Leschber some swings as well.
It was also nice to see the coaches using a variety of pitchers during each game. Hopefully they can get a few Wins this week-end. Go Gophers!

Georgia Tech 15 hits 9 walks 6 HR allowed vs Stanford
