All Things 2023 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Alvarez is dead at home. I don’t get why they cut that off.

Just bad all around. Now Verlander could go 7. We’re no longer working the count.

I am so tired of this take. That pitch has been called a strike since baseball started. Swing the bleeping bat on that pitch.

Also how about back to back jacks.
That one I have no problem with. There’s been a few other pretty bad ones.

We’ve got ourselves a game!

Damnit. They’re giving themselves lots of opportunities. Just gotta get better at taking advantage.

Good fight to get back in it. They put themselves in position to succeed a lot, just couldn’t cash in enough.

This isn’t the same team we normally see. They have fight.

Phillies beat the Braves, D-Backs up 5-0 on the Dodgers. Appears every road team will win game 1 except the Twins.

I agree. Don't like it and think it may come back to haunt us.

Alvarez splits this season
vs RH pitching: .292/.419/.625 - OPS 1.044
vs LH pitching: .295/.385/.507 - OPS .892

He hits lefties at the same average, with a little less power.

as a team during the regular season, the Astros went
vs RH pitching: .254/.328/.423 - OPS .751
vs LH pitching: .270/.339/.470 - OPS .809

in general the numbers say you're better throwing a righty against the Stros as opposed to a Lefty.

final stat - that was the 1st HR that Thielbar has given up this season - including both RH and LH hitters.

I know the 3 other road teams won. But that's why you earn a bye. So you have Lopez starting game 1 at home instead of ober on the road

All of the above are, of course, true, I just think Thielbar has been a little shaky lately. We'll see. Obviously, they don't consult me. Lol.

Rangers lead the O’s 10-5 after 5. The big bad AL East may very well be 0-6 in the postseason by tonight.

Yes, you’re right, the home team winning one of four Games Ones certainly proves the first round bye is invaluable.
