Curious as to how many Brewster backers are still out there...

You can't defend him anymore, there is clearly no improvement, these "so called" great recruits are apparently being ruined by poor coaching and the Gophs are probably not going to win a game for the rest of the year.

Some backers say give him more time. What has he done besides flap his gums and say were getting better when all other information points otherwise.

I was trying to stay positive for Brewster and this team through the USC game. After the NIU loss. I don't think I can do it anymore. I thought it inevitable he was gone after this season, unless there was a big turnaround. Now, I wouldn't be shocked if he were gone on Monday (Just in time for Gruden to announce accepting the job during the Packers Monday night game!)

I do feel badly for Brewster and still maintain he is a great guy and a great recruiter who works very hard. But he is just not getting it done as a coach for whatever reason. Unless he goes undefeated in Big10 play. I think he is gone for sure. If not because of Maturi, but I am sure Bruinicks will pull the trigger if Maturi doesn't.

They are out there. I was a believer until USD. Wacker had a similar group of followers.

loki - I think you are right. At first I thought maybe a relative but when he returns proclaiming how much progress is being made in the program, that this season is not about wins and losses and of course how much talent there is I will be convinced Schnoodler is in fact Brewster.

One of his "best posts" is about the quite confidence in the team during fall camp and the team taking on the attitude of the Skyline 4. Classic.

I try to tell people that Schnoodler is Brewster but no one listens.

Well, listen, if Schnoodler comes on the board and defends Brewster, I do not know how anyone can reach any other conclusion except that Schnoodler is Brewster.

Again without question, that is a tremendous observation.

I doubt Brewster is Schnoodler, but more likely he's someone close to the program. Maybe a parent or someone one of the younger staff. Very dedicated to Brewster is that one.

I've had lunch with Schnoodler and he is NOT Brewster. Just another die-hard Gopher fan like many of us.

Doogie and GL have also met Schnoodler, he is not Brew, just someone who supports the Gophs at all times, although if you've read his tone lately he is not on Brew's bandwagon.

I can verify that. Schnoodler is a good guy.

He may be in person, but lately in his posts he would call others "dumb," "stupid" and was very insulting when someone would be critical of Brewster. I did not think that was called for, especially when he is the one that now looks "dumb" and "stupid" for supporting Brewster up until game time last night. Anyone with two eyes could see before last night's game that this program is going straight into the crapper.

Can't defend Brew

Bring on the new guy. The right guy. Do it before the season ends. And, whatever you do, don't listen to me. I thought this season was going to be much better defensively. I need to recalibrate my mind.

Doubtful. The homers always stick their head in the sand for a few days after every Gopher fiasco.

It's no different from all the new posters spamming this board since the USD game. Where were they earlier?

Why can't Brewster see what many fans see. Weber shouldn't be our starting QB. Last night was another example as he was unable to lead a wide open receiver. There were at least 3 touch downs the Gophers should have had, had Weber not thrown behind, thrown short, or thrown over the head of open receivers. Not to mention down by 11 points and throwing short pass after short pass as time is running out. Weber's stats show a lot of passing yardage last night but how many of these completed passes were very poorly thrown balls that the receivers caught inspite of Weber?

It's time to start developing next years QB's. By sticking with Weber, Brewster is supplying the U with the nails for Brewster's own coffin.

The U can have my season tickets next year. I have seen enough.

Not necessarily a Brewster backer, but still a supporter. I say this because if Brew somehow turns it around then the program is turning around. I have serious doubts that it will happen, but I will always support the U of M coach.

And to the fans that boo'd the team going into halftime yesterday, F U. You might be upset with the coach, but STUDENT athletes do not deserve to be boo'd, especially by so-called home fans.

I'm drinking the koolaid 'til they install a new flavor. You jackasses can get bent, we aren't going anywhere. Go Brew Crew.

I would like Brewster to remain the head football coach for Minnesota, for one game in particular ;).

I was one of them. F U for assuming they (I) were booing the players. I think anyone that has taken in a game the last 3 years--INCLUDING the players--would know 95+% of those expressing their discontent were obviously directing them toward Tim Brewster and his coaching staff, sir. "Fire Brewster" chant ring a bell?

Come on. It's obvious the players are playing to the level that they've been coached up.

I like Brewster and had my hopes for him, but it's pretty obvious the end is nigh. I'll cheer for him until the end and I'll cheer for the new guy when he gets hired.

I thought he should get another year to see if he could make some progress, but this year has been a disaster. He may recruit some talented players, but it's clear he has not surrounded them with the proper coordinators and coaches. I think he could do a great job as a recruiting coordinator like a Ed Orgeron for USC.

Brewster is a recruiter and not a coach. We knew that, but we figured he could at least put together a staff that could coach these players adequately and serve as a CEO of the program. Brewster has failed at doing so.

I like Brewster, but he's just not a head coach. He had plenty of time to learn, but he just doesn't get it. He's not getting the most out of his players and his time management skills are elementary at best. I wish he'd have been the guy to get this program to turn the corner, but he doesn't have what it takes. I hated Mason's smug attitude and arrogance. Like Sid and Dave said this morning, if the Gophers suffered a tough loss under Mason, you couldn't find Glen. Brewster shows up every Sunday at 9:30 no matter how painful the losses were. That's not nearly enough to keep him at the helm though.

You sir, are a dick. Of course fire brewster rings a bell. I was not one of them doing it or booing either. The student section has been terrible. Throwing magazines all over the field, booing Weber after a couple of incompletions, chanting fire brewster, etc. It's been one of the worst student sections I've been apart of in my time as a student season ticket holder (going back to 03). Do you think booing helps the players play better? It's supposed to be a home field advantage not disadvantage. I guarantee being boo'd off the field at half time made players feel like *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# no matter who it was directed at. I didn't realize that the tone of boo's could be differentiated between being directed at players vs the coach. Absolutely classless.

For the record, right now I'd be perfectly fine with Brew getting canned. I think there is way more talent on this team but it's being poorly managed right now. I can understand (but not like) booing after ridiculous calls. There were a few, like not kicking the field goal in the 4th when down by 11, going for it on 4th down in your own end to open the 2nd half, etc. I know the Ellestad is shaky (at best) but still. But booing the ENTIRE team when coming off the field?? Come on people.
