Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Was this otz guy considered for the mn job? I don’t recall posters throwin his name around.
Here is your post from Jan 1

“So correct. New year so I am trying to ease up on sht posts. They add nothing and simply are me venting. Happy new year”

You forgot about that in a heartbeat, so I’m guessing you probably also forgot if there was any push for ‘Otz’.

And this year's group was 3rd.....so improvement. :)
These ranking sites miss on so many prospects. Maybe we can all agree that these sites (weather rivals, ESPN, 247…etc) are not the holy grail of talent evaluation and they are more or less guesses. Lots of these players flame out, lots of 5 stars flop, lots of lower ranked players do better than expected, some people barely in the top 100 go 1& done…these sites do not know everything.

Can't believe I am about to post this but I agree 100% in terms of the recruiting sites. They are absolutely guessing on a lot of guys. I do think the recruiting sites are probably a little more accurate in terms of basketball than they are for football but they are still just guessing as to how guys are going to turn out and they are also only looking at surface information as opposed to taking a deep dive the way coaches do into all the aspects of a player, not just how they play on the court.

That said, they do tend to be right more often than not (especially in basketball) when it comes to evaluating the best of the best which is what makes a guy like Evans really exciting.

Wait, was i negative in the otz post?

Average recruit ranking is way more important.
I typically value it more, but then again I don’t trust the rankings much. They have gotten better with restrictions going away. It really hampered what guys could see and who could play.

This is the most embarrassing game I’ve ever witnessed. As a reminder, we’re only missing Carrington, who really isn’t a contributor.
- Garcia has been our best player of late and CBJ can’t get him shots…WTF

WHAT A JOKE

Agree, this game makes Johnson look inept, no shots being created for either Battle or Garcia, none.

Battle just hasn't contributed much to the team this year, high volume shooter with very mediocre results.

I think Johnson got the most out of Jamison Battle who transfered in from George Washington University.

Both Battle and Garcia were scoreless in the first half.

The future is the freshmen still learning, not the transfer from George Washington.

I really like Battle so it pains me to say that.

Maybe his back hindered him.

The future is the youth.

Agree although I think the basketball rankings are more accurate than the football rankings.

Minnesota held elite Purdue to 61.

The Gophers shooting was inexplicable. Maybe it was psychological knowing the game was lost before it started. Who knows.

a lot better than the past. Much more video for analysis. Don't have to call Al Lewis for input on SoCal players any longer

TJ also went 7-11 in conference play last year. Had the good fortune of playing LSU after Wade got fired and Wisconsin minus Johnny Davis
Johnny Davis played … Gabe held him in check … Gabe seriously out played Davis

Tonight was a disgrace. You don't fall 30 points behind at home, EVER, against a lower division Big Ten team. There is zero design to this team, from roster construction to their offense to the defensive side of the ball. Garbage.

There is only one saving grace- the 4 freshmen are all individually promising.
Lower division?
