Ben Johnson is a Disaster

According to Ted Knight's character in Caddyshack, the world needs ditch diggers. It also needs cesspool builders. Mission accomplished: this thread is now a cesspool.

Holy balls.

First of all, the post that Bad quoted was in regard to your comment about something you made up that I said about "football vs. Wisconsin". Try to keep up - difficult with limited brainpower, I know.

Secondly, please point out where in that post I said "he['ll] never be good enough to coach as an assistant in the B1G." Here's a free hint - peruse the word "probably."

You are not bright. But it's a Friday and it's fun playing with the challenged, particularly a total dipshit who has the balls to call me a "moron" when he can barely read and certainly can't follow an argument that he himself is feebly attempting to make.
I'm not making an argument, I'm just challenging a moron who knows nothing about a coach. Who then proceeds to claim said coach will probably never be good enough to be an assistant in the B1G because he's almost 40 coaching high schoolers. Nice logical fallacy.

Now this moron is trying to hide behind the word 'probably'.

I get that you're butthurt about the self-evident fact that Craig Smith is a vastly superior coach to Ben Johnson (so butthurt that you had to add it to your signature line like an infant), but you didn't need to use that butthurt to re-attach yourself to my testes in this thread as you've done so many times in the past.

Damian Johnson is almost certainly never going to be an assistant coach in the Big Ten or any other high major conference, and is even less likely in particular to be an assistant coach for the Gophers. Sorry if that hurts your fee-fees.

And yet, Bad is seriously (not jokingly) advocating for him to become not merely an assistant, but literally the head coach, of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. And presumably you would as well, as evidenced by the aforementioned teste-hanging. I mean - wow.

Gophers are hitting their stride now and will soon be 2-2 in the B1G. I look forward to bumping this thread after every Gopher win and every other 2nd year coach embarrassing loss.
Our next B1G game is at the Kohl Center. A place we've won twice (?) ever. Sure thing.

Almost beat them last year with less talent. Badgers play close with every team they play.

I know you guys might be arguing technicalities of what was said. But statistically, the odds of any 37 year old high school coach eventually being a B1G assistant is tiny. Say 1/1,000. Even if Damien Johnson's chances are 5 x that high, it's still very unlikely to ever happen.

It might be close. But the 8-on-5 games at the Kohl Center almost always turn out the same way.

Going to Madison and win - that what your saying?

Minnesota Nice? This thread now contains misogynist, racist, and homophobic references (really, butthurt?). Surely there must be others to attack? Get started, I know you'll do the haters proud.

If Sam Houston State was on the schedule, that would be a very real possibility. I think they'd be favored.

Only favored? They'd beat us by double digits, just like every other team ranked higher than 105 on KenPom has.

You think butthurt is a homophobic reference? I'd also love to see these misogynist and racist references you allude to, but I'm not holding my breath given your hot take on butthurt. Get a clue.

Cal literally has not won a game yet, how could they have a lower % than us?
Pac12 is a decent amount worse than the B1G, especially down the line. You also do realize the only teams we have beat are TERRIBLE.

People seem unwilling to admit we are an absolutely abysmal team.

This is why statistics are fun. Based at least on the current power ranking, the Gophers would be a statistical underdog in every conference game they play, home and away. BUT, it's still an exceedingly small chance (<5%) that they lose them all. It's a little like the pro sports in this town and their consecutive seasons streak of avoiding the championship round: each year, the chances of going to the finals are small, but over decades, the chances of NOT going to the finals are VERY SMALL.

Who will our first win be against? A fellow bottom feeder--the lowest-hanging fruit--or a freaky upset of a ranked team? We know the Gophers have some talent and have had their moments.

I totally get we have stunk and the B1G is better than the Pac12, but seriously, Cal is 0-11 currently. How is that even possible for a power 6 team? I suppose if the bottom dwellers of that conference are only marginally better, that makes sense.

Do we get Purdue at home? I smell blood in the water...

Correct, they get 2 shots at 199th ranked Ore St (for reference we are 174), the current lowest ranked opponent we get would be Nebraska who is 80th.

Yeah, I thought it meant you got yer rear kicked. Nothing more than that.

You don’t know how much I hope you’re right. I’m one seeing slight improvement but not as much as you.
