Fanatics

You got that right. Store opens late with thousands of people at the stadium. Half filled with poor selection of merch. Complete missed opportunity for the U.
They just chose the partner that would give the most profit.

I sure miss Goldy’s. The stadium store merchandise is far inferior to what it was a couple of years ago.

After the covid year they basically downsized their entire inventory. I used to check out the goods during halftime of a few games and basically always walked out with something. That first game back at the stadium the store was half empty and the selection was for shite.

Fanatics is trash and ruined the store inside Mariucci too.

Agree. Fanatics is junk. Supporting my kids schools as well and the fanatics gear they have is also trash.

I have not been in there yet this season, so what is making it inferior to how it was before?

Less selection, less sizes, less variety, less quality, more expensive any/all of the above?

Bummer to hear this.

Semi related: I noticed that after seeing Gopher tailgate tent canopies every August in Costco and Dicks, they have disappeared the last two years. I figured that was Murphy’s law as I always saw them when I wasn’t looking to buy them. I did some calling around this year and found that Dicks in Richfield had one (and only one). Both Dicks and Costco had billions of Viking canopies.

Is the Gold Country in Dinkytown still around? Always liked that place.

Also, the bookstore in Coffman has a ton of great apparel.

Costco near me had Gopher chairs... so there's that.

Yes! I picked up a couple. They are much larger and more comfy than the chairs that Dicks has. And only about $6 more per chair too.
I should have but I was too busy getting my family to move their ass and not talk about every other item in the sore and .... god I hate shopping with these people.

For most of August, Costco in both Woodbury and Maplewood had the Gopher tents and chairs.

And I agree on Fanatics. Their stuff is overpriced trash.

Yes. According to an e-mail they sent out a couple of weeks ago, that location was recently renovated and updated. Haven't been in there yet, but will be sure to check out the next time I'm in Dinkytown.

Sams Club Maple Grove had canopies, chairs, plates, etc a few weeks ago. Not sure if they still do.

With free same or next day delivery and free returns at most online places, you'll find a lot more options.

I've probably had the best luck at the Coffman bookstore of all places the last couple years.

Edit: oh...and Scheels is pretty good too.

I buy a new hat at the Gopher building at the fair every year. Even bought one last year when barely anyone went. To the building to buy my hat this year, two, shitty, hats for sale. They used to have like 30+ that I could pick from. I asked: "Sorry, they are all at the stadium." "Maybe next year." Sucked.

The offerings at the fair building were pathetic this year. Very disappointing. I liked some of the items at the stadium, but the store itself looks really dumpy. Hopefully that will get fixed up.
