If you're a season ticket holder, check your email. Contrary to what I thought had been said, there are single game seats available and they're offering them to season ticket holders first before they go on sale to the public on Monday.

Grab the rest of the Iowa tickets to make sure they go to Gopher fans!!

You beat me to the punch - I have to admit, I bought 4 extras for the USC game before I went to post! I'm guessing if there are USC tickets, there are tickets to every game. I won't even mention how sad this is, the 2nd year into our stadium (oops, I just did)...I'm just excited I got tickets close to my section for my out of town friends, and Gopher Alums at face!

It is sad. Makes me wonder if I'm "mis-remembering" U officials talking about how basically everything was sold out with season tickets.

I grabbed a couple of USC tickets and Iowa tickets too. At least those will go to Gopher fans.

Oh, and PS: I think I should feel proud...it's not often GopherLady is beaten to the punch on anything! :)

I went online to check out the best available seats for the Iowa game, and it said they were in section 220 row 30. According to the seating chart from last year, section 220 was a part of the student section. Maybe they are reducing the size of the student section and selling those tickets?

2009 seating chart

All the tickets I see available are from the top of the student section or from the Visiting team section. Did anyone purchase tickets from elsewhere?

In typical fashion, the U gives just a few days notice on this. Which is fine for every game except for the Iowa game. Sigh...I hope the availability of extra tickets this season helps them think ahead and proactively plan for how to creatively market left over seats and single game tickets moving forward.

Did my part.....got 4 tix, 228, row 29.

Enjoy the ICA $4/ticket extra charge......was a building maintenance fee & ticketmaster charge not available?

This might not actually be a horrible way to do things.

My reasoning... Every year they sell as many student tickets as they can, until only a couple weeks until the first home game. Then sell the remainder of that space to whomever, students or regular season ticket holders, wants them first. Some years there may be no extra tickets available, other years the students wont buy so many tickets. Either way, it fills the place, and fills it with minimal visiting team fans.

At first, I was thinking this is horrible and someone wasn't telling the truth if they could be saying the renewal rate was so high, but then they start leaking out single game tickets for some games, and then single game tickets for ALL games. I was really deflated when I saw that email in my inbox this morning. Seeing "Iowa" on there with available single game tickets really bugged me.

But, after reading here... it appears ALL (correct me if I am wrong) of these tickets are in the student section. If so, we all know that was a problem last year. It also looks like nobody was telling a lie (in terms of last year's seating chart, it is again sold out but they are now going back to fill in the empty student seats). I guess my opinion would change again if someone knows of single game tickets OUTSIDE of the student section. Every ticket listed so far in this thread is from that 'yellow' section that was reserved for the students (and was often 1/2 to 2/3 full last year).

To make a long story short... last year every ticket was sold but the stadium still looked partially empty due to the student section, this year the single game sales are probably part of the effort to not only SELL those seats again but also actually put people IN THEM on game day. I'm feeling better.

I just made sure there will be 10 less Iowa fans for that game, hopefully Gopher fans buy those up before they go public. Mine were in the second to last row so I'm guessing these won't be aroudn very much longer

Me four were in 217 also.

Are you saying you just bought 4 single game seats in 217 or your existing tickets were in 217? I was hoping all these single game tickets were in the student section (220-230).

that far up in section 217 would be a Visiting team area, obviously Iowa would have sold all their alloment wouldn't they?

It seems to me they are just selling out returned allotments from visiting teams and selling regular tickets above the student section to fill that space. That's a wise move in my opinion. The students can and do cram into the lower level and the lower part of the upper level if they need to.

I just bought 6 Iowa tickets. I can give them to clients or sell at face to other Gopher folks. Whatever keeps the Hawkeye assholes out.

Mine were 225 (back of student section). The students aren't pulling their weight this year.

They were in 217 Row 22 and they were for the Penn State game. Our regular seats are all in 112.

Just got two to USC for Gopher friends. Section 222 Row 27 was the best available and that was after a 45 minute hold via phone.

I just tried to purchase Iowa tickets and could only get one seat. Those tickets must have gone fast, perhaps bought as investments?

I'd have to say the Students are the most easily influenced by preseason predictions and coverage. I may have to get in contact with some of y'all this season for tix!

So who wants to sell me 4 of their Iowa tickets? I promise it won't go to any hogeye fans.

Haha - I wish that were true! With a lot of schoolwork this summer, I feel I've been behind on just about everything!

I highly doubt that - I would put $ on the fact that Iowa could sell out their 3K ticket allotment in a morning. And as far as the student section tickets go - last year, it was sold out and there was that much room left. This year, I believe the last we heard was there were thousands of tickets left. So basically, even if we sold all of the student section out, we would have still had that empty space.

just tried usc. only singles left.
I wasn't able to get anymore either, so at least that game is sold out, or almost sold out.

Just bought 2 extra for USC and Iowa. Willing to the Iowa tickets for a little over face to Gophers fans.

fail I bought 3 together for USC, could have bought a lot more, but I couldn't get any for Iowa, I will do my best to keep these freaks out of our bathrooms.

Keep checking minnyrules, Ive read posts all day saying Iowa was sold out and I was finally able to get two tickets @ 7:50. Odd but true.
