Why do you think that? Fleck has taken at least one per year hasn’t he?
2017 - Morgan
2018 - Virmontes (recruit), Annexstad (walk-on)
2019 - Clark, Kramer
2020 -
2021 - Kaliakmanis
2022 - Knuth

For 2023 we will have just Kramer, Kaliakmanis, and Knuth on scholarship at QB so would be surprised to see us not bring in a QB with the 2023 class.

You'd have to think Athan wins the starting job with Knuth right there and ready as a back-up to step up if needed. Not sure if Kramer would stick around as a more "elder, QB coach" type of backup or transfer out.

(pulling all that out of my rear end, wild guess)

So certainly, it makes sense to have a true freshman if nothing else to have someone running the scout team, always need that.

Not saying they would, but could also have a walk-on type QB run a scout team. I think it's more likely they recruit a scholarship QB though.

Yes, and maybe that is the answer. Take a walk-on, who has the physical traits and potential to earn a scholarship, but isn't ready out of high school.

Will be interesting to see if Kramer is still the change of pace guy under KC.

From a recruiting standpoint it seems like there have been a number of tweets from 2023 QBs about getting offers from the U so would expect to see one commit eventually. We may not have on imminent at this point but still lots of time left in the 2023 cycle.

May have already been discussed, but see that Rodney Gallagher is now showing as warm for us on 247.

According to 247 he will be here on June 10th and at OK State on the 15th. As of now we are the only two schools showing as warm for him.
Quite the offer list. Remember the old days when the only schools we were trying to out-woo were the likes of Northern Illinois, Ball St., Wyoming, Texas St. Bobcats...?

Don’t forget All the directional Michigan schools 2. It used to be us and Western with an occasional Central back in the good ole days.

I'm not one to make grand assumptions about a guy's offer list and future performance.

But yeah it is VERY nice not to feel like I ONLY see us engaged with guys with like a couple offers from Nowhere State, maybe one other less than stellar P5 ...

No shame on those guys, just glad to see not just that in a general sense.

I was just thinking the same thing......I know our recruiting rankings don't necessarily reflect it, but we are on a different level under PJ when it comes to the type of athletes we are recruiting. I hope our lack of NIL doesn't change that.....

Do not be too quick to rule out Kramer.

It's more than likely that they will get a scholarship QB. You want a quality QB like Athan on the scout team. The Defense facing the best challenging QB keeps them honest and crisp.

Looks like a new crystal ball came in for wr/te Pierce Walsh to the gophers.

I think it can given Fuzzy Thurston's Left Guard is no longer a fine drinking and dining establishment.
TK was my hero when I was a young lad. I cried (and was subsequently teased by my older brother) while he laid there twitching like a freshly stuck crappie on the filleting table after Jim Youngblood slammed him to the Met Stadium dirt.
