Yeah, it's not often you see a guy shoot under 25% from 3 and have over 200 attempts. That's a bit troubling.

We searched all season for Gabe's replacement. He seems to fit the bill (upon looking it up Gabe shot 34% the only time he attempted over 200 threes).

He sure has some nice looking numbers. 6'6" guard, 185
From Ohio, so worked out nice for the Buckeyes. 3 years of heavy minutes already, .530 overall on FG%

Yeah and with a little more digging, his slightly better freshman year numbers did not come against any mid/high majors. He was feasting on bad low majors, the likes of Charleston Southern (3-18), USC Upstate (5-18), High Point (9-15) oof Tubby, Longwood (12-17), South Carolina State (1-17) yikes, and Gardner Webb (11-15). Only a few games against teams with winning records, and Presbyterian itself was 7-15.

Maybe I'm getting a bit myopic but I am not really interested in a low efficiency guy from a bad low major team.

Well, Ben, promised to do some deep diving into the portal and this group, besides Spencer perhaps, looks like the result of that. Interesting that two of these players, like Stephens, are from the Patriot League. Luc certainly wasn't bashful for a freshman (taking almost 15 shots per 40 minutes). Horton looks to be a 5th year player as he did two years at a JUCO. He did lead his league in total assists. I'd kind of prefer a lower usage point like Larson though.

Still haven't heard anything about a big man. If he's going to do that, I hope he doesn't leave that for last again.

Well, if anyone other than maybe the top player or two play 35+ minutes per game we're probably in trouble because that will mean we have a lousy bench again.
 

Despite playing 32 minutes per game as a freshman, Luc is transferring and I can see why. Holy Cross' current coach has a 17-62 record (21.5%) over three years. And we think we have it bad!

2nd place: Ron Johnson, 27, 1957-58 season against North Carolina

Those were in the older era, though. Before the mid-seventies, national rebounding leaders routinely averaged over 20 rebounds per game. Oscar Tshiebwe of Kentucky averaged 15.2 this season and that was the highest average since 1979. A guy who entered the portal a couple of weeks ago from Utah Valley averaged 15 per game last year (the second highest average since 1980) but that was in a shortened 22 game season.

I hope you're right but there's always a chance that we hear after a month that it's down to us and Iowa State and he goes to Iowa State. Only a bit over 3 hours to Prior Lake.

Does make me wonder what's considered close to home in those situations, would the committee deem three hours close enough when it's going to be his third school in three years, especially if there's just as viable of an option 25 minutes from home?

I once tallied 67 pts and 30 boards as Truck Robinson playing nerf hoops against myself as Artis Gilmore. My imaginary friend was otherwise engaged 🤔
