We have a rare Wednesday ranked opponent game.

Costal Carolina at Appalachian State
Oklahoma at Kansas
Northwestern at Michigan
Illinois at Penn State
Syracuse at Va Tech
wisconsin at Purdue
Okla St at Iowa St
Oregon at UCLA
LSU at Ole Miss
Clemson at Pitt
Colorado at California
Tennessee at Alabama
San Diego State at Air Force
Ohio State at Indiana
USC at Notre Dame
NC State at Miami
ETc.

Not too many interesting games. WI/Purdue, OkSU/ISU, and maybe Clemson/Pitt. There are a bunch of good teams on byes. Week 9 is a whole different story.

App State pulls off the upset vs Coastal Carolina with a game winning FG! First win vs a ranked opponent since they beat #5 Michigan in 2007.

Coastal seems like a team that does not shy away from the questionable hit, or feel bad about it. I’ve seen a few games this year, and am not a fan of them or their coach. Glad they lost so there is no question about them punching up.

They got whipped up front by App State. Not Penn State, or even NC State, or Okie State. App State. That 14 ranking was exposed for the fraud it was/now is.

By the way, the Mountaineers were no angels either. Very chippy, I thought.

Good.

Now we don't have to hear absurd BS about how a friggin' Sun Belt team should be in the playoff, for the rest of the year.

It's really weird that there isn't any late start games this week. Other than the Hawaii game, every game starts at 6:30 central or earlier. No Pac 12 after dark. Lame.

There's also not a single matchup between two ranked teams. Double lame.

Only two games worth following this week.
1. The one that involves the Gophers.
2. The one that involves the team playing the Badgers.

Normally there are three but i don’t have a third team to cheer for because no one is playing Iowa.

Well, when the area that the campus is located is basically the setting for Deliverance, you shouldn't expect much.
The setting for a Hollywood movie could be anywhere. It's a movie and the setting tells you nothing about actual people living in the area.

Nick Nash (great name) QB at San Jose State is really fun to watch. UNLV looking to end a long losing streak (current longest in FBS?), headed by freshman Cameron Friel at QB who is also looking impressive.

San Jose was a really impressive team last year, in the covid shortened season.

They've not looked nearly as good this year, which is too bad. That school tends to lose any hot coach that it lands, to a P5, pretty quickly.

Pulled out the win last night, but are now only 4-4. Close loss last week at home to San Diego St, which could win the MWC.

Saturday looks like a Gophers, Wild, Wolves slate (is Purdue game early?!)…

I just heard, on the Cover 3 podcast, that the host from North Carolina said that the two best college football gameday experiences in NC are App State and East Carolina. I've always thought that Kidd-Brewer stadium at night seems like a good time from television.

TV: Gophers-Maryland. Remote at hand, to turn down the sound during commercials.

Laptop: Badgers-Boilers, to glance at when the TV game has a pause in the action.

I picked up a package of large frozen marrow bones at the grocery store, to keep the dog from bugging us. Food, snacks and drink supplies are all ready. Mrs. RememberMurray and I will be at our posts, promptly, before the kickoff.

Arizona kicking Washington's ass!!!! Ok only 3-0 a few minutes in, but it sounded good.

Super lame slate of games this week. The big four 11:00 starts are as follows:

ESPN: Oklahoma/Kansas
ESPN2: Cincy/Navy
ABC: PSU/Illinois
FOX: Michigan/NW

Four probable slaughterings.

The slate is so bad that BTN is showing a game from 2003 at 11:00 am.
It's gotta be better than Bill Walton on the Gameday show. He is super annoying today.

Who is Penn State trying to impress with these ostentatious uniforms? This is football, not a fashion show.

It's very early, but Kansas and Oklahoma rock chalk
