***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA, FROST V FLECK IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Yippee Skippy to either Junkyard Jr or Frosty after tomorrow? There is a blowout watch.

Looking for a great game....well for the Gophers anyway!

After sitting through the 84-13 drubbing of our Golden Gophers by the Huskers in the Metrodome in 1983, any time we play Nebraska I find nothing less than total victory acceptable.
Billd's first Gophers game was the 1989 48-0 drubbing.

Commented to Mrs. Billd at the end of the game...who converted to be a football fan to be my lifelong sweetie..."This is not football in the manner to which we are accustomed."

Moved here as a Georgia fan to attend the U. The Dawgs were down from their pinnacle in the early 80s but were nothing like what we witnessed that day in the Metrodome.

Regardless, that experience did cement disliking Nebraska into our newly forming Gophers psyche once we started paying attention when Mason was hired.

Very satisfying to beat Nebbie. Hoping to see it again today here shortly. Go Gophers!

I was able to push that game out of my memory. You are forcing me to get an early start on some 12 oz curls.

Happy to see this is becoming a good rivalry as it should. Not going to date myself by a particular Braska blowout but, needless to say; I want to see some red crying towels being used this afternoon.

Red-clad Mouth Breathers have invaded the state. Send them home disappointed.

Down in Florida for a couple of weeks. All set for this game. Anybody know what network the game is on next week?

Mrs E wasn't as supportive to convert to Gopherdom since her father was a decades long season ticket holder for the Hawkeyes. However she was rebellious enough to attend Iowa State.

The upside to this is that there is mutual, but not equal, disdain for the Cornpones thanks to the behavior of relatives of hers who are their fans.

The short version is that one of her uncles and his family attended a gathering of the whole family at her grandparents farm, in Iowa, while Nebraska lost a game on TV. Chaos erupted in the TV and furniture was broken. Oathes were sworn by the Nebraskans to never leave Nebraska when the Cornhuskers were playing football.

That sounds like a Married With Children episode. Too funny.

Feels like a fork in the old road. Win and a decent bowl is still in reach.
Lose and Yippee Skippy, maybe they can be in Detroit two days after Christmas.

I don't think the situation is that desperate if we lose today (although I guess a decisive loss would cause some concern). This team has a pretty good shot of winning 4 more games even if it loses today. Even 8 wins isn't out of the question. If the team wins 7 games, it isn't going to Detroit as there could be multiple 6 win Big Ten teams at the end of the season. I'd say the Pinnstripe, Las Vegas, and even Music City bowls are more likely destinations with 7 wins.

I am going to line up some old furniture just in case.

I just watched highlights from prior Nebraska vs Minnesota games from years past from a Minnesota perspective. It was all blank tape. Let's change that.

Both Minnesota and Nebraska have veteran lines that have faced each other a lot before. Minnesota has typically won those battles in the past, especially in 2019. I hope that's the key to victory today.

Minnesota's advantage is not having Benhart.

I wanna vomit I'm so nervous. I live in NE & if we lose I'm gonna have to hear about how Nebraska is back for the next 2 weeks.

Man! One of those years. No Daniel Jackson today, and it’s after a bye week!
