All Things 2023 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

Anything progressing here throughout the summer? With the 2022 class getting their first commit I'm curious what we should be watching outside of Chatman and Winter regarding the next building blocks for this program.

Those kinds of free perks for metro kids, is why they never feel like they need to take official visits here.

Not at all saying we shouldn't provide them. Of course I'm not saying that.

Just saying it's all part of the "I already know what the U is ... I want to check out what it's like in other places" thing that metro kids have with the U.

I know he's 2024 but Freitag is at the game today as well.

Is it confirmation bias or does MN get more "unofficial" visits than most other schools? I get it when the local kids don't want to "waste" an official visit on the U but this kid isn't local?

According to NCAA rules each school has limited numbers of official visits they can give out. Because of this they won't want to bring recruits in for officials unless they gauge their interest to be sincerely serious; Besides, I could be wrong but I don't think they can have official visitors for 2023 until we hit 2022.

Another new offer. 4 star power forward from Wisconsin.

In his latest Scoops Podcast, Doogie states on Chatman:

"The Gophers are sitting pretty with Chatman. If the Gophers can land Taison Chatman that would be a big time get."

Go Gophers!!

Since it's Doogie, I'll be reserved in my optimism. Seems like a safe place to me.

Due to his father being Trevor Winter and the fact that Ben and Thorson are clearly making him a priority, my confidence at this point is about a nine out of ten. Good chance Thorson recruited Trevor back in the day.

You're talking about Presley here?

Is that a serious question? I'm pretty sure he is talking about Nolan Winter, since he is Trevor Winter's son. I feel good about getting Winter also. You never know though...

You never know, though. It's Lakeville ...

My bad. I really have not been keeping up here.
