Trey Potts - UPDATED With Statement from the U

Since everyone is assuming, how about this assumption. Think of the shit storm that would be caused if Potts had a blood clot that formed in his lungs due to receiving the Covid-19 vaccination? That would be a condition that would definitely cause silence at ground zero. I can tell from a past experience that once a blood clot is found in the lungs you will never see a medical team move faster at treatment in your life. It would explain the heavy commotion of getting him in and out of the tent that has been described in the earlier posts of this thread. Oh, how politics have ruined our way of life!
Crawl back into your hole

Going to go out on a limb and say that assuming he is one of the high number of players that has been vaccinated, it didn't just happen so I would put the odds of the vaccination having anything to do with what happened with Potts on Saturday at less than zero.

Not sure why you felt the need to try and take this thread down this path but it is already pretty worthless at this point so may as well make it political.
Less than zero, eh? Brilliant. No one knows. But the silence speaks volumes and myocarditis as a side effect is a very real issue with the vax. Be honest, it's possible though not probable. I know a college basketball player who has been sidelined for months with the myocarditis issue, post vax.

Maybe stick to the "Off-Topic" board.

From what PJ has said in the past most of the players were vaccinated a long time ago. Vaccine related myocarditis in the young usually occurs within days of the vaccine in our experience and others who have published on it.

How would they be able to diagnose a blood clot in the lungs in the tent?
I'm not a doctor but that seems like a complex diagnosis.

It doesn't at all. This is normal for Fleck's program. They don't tell us anything. Do we even know exactly what Mo's injury was yet?

There have been a lot of impressive leaps in this thread based on little to no information, but your's may be one of the most impressive by far. And the fact that you are going to pretend the silence is somehow a confirmation of your theory is an even bigger leap.

Especially when they have already said that information will be given out when the family allows the university to give it out.

He hurt his leg. Or his arm. Or his back. Or his head. Actually, I don't think he's even injured.

Update - there is no update.

From the Strib on Thursday:

Gophers running back Trey Potts remained hospitalized in Indiana on Thursday, five days after being rushed by ambulance from Purdue's Ross-Ade Stadium.

Asked for an update on Potts' condition, a Gophers spokesman referenced the team's statement from Monday, which said Potts is with his family in Indiana, receiving medical attention.

The Gophers have a bye this week, so coach P.J. Fleck has no media availability scheduled until next Monday. Minnesota plays host to Nebraska on Oct. 16.

And - hell has frozen over. Pat Reusse complimented Gopher Hole. On a Skor North podcast, Reusse said (paraphrasing)-"The Gopher Fans knew about Potts before the media. I read about it on Gopher Hole." he then recapped how Gopher fans saw the activity on the sideline and posted accounts of it on Gopher Hole, before anyone in the media reported on the situation.

Let the record show I leapt at vaccine-associated myocarditis first.

Get well Trey!

I think it's still very concerning that he's still in the hospital.
Certainly can't be viewed as a good sign. Hopefully the family decides to provide an update of some kind soon on his condition.

Obviously they are under no obligation to do so but I am sure they know there are lots of people out there very curious about what happened and wanting to know how he is doing.

Having survived a pulmonary embolism from ACL reconstructive surgery, it is not the "code red" you make it out to be. Assuming the little clam shell on the sidelines doesn't have a full setup to perform an angiogram, and considering his pants were still on (because they would have had to remove those to shave his nuts and poke the catheter up through the vein in his groin to go through the heart to get to his lungs), they didn't "find" a blood clot right there on the sidelines. Besides, if a clot was suspected, they would have stuck him immediately with a heparin IV drip. Been there. Done that.

Timing is of the essence, but it is not an emergency C-section git 'er done in 30 minutes or less kind of ordeal. The medical staff that treated me moved efficiently, but at no time did they act like the building was on fire and I was wearing gasoline soaked clothing.

Since I am a PE survivor, I am much more susceptible to clots in the future, and I didn't hesitate to get vaccinated. The probability of that outcome happening as a result was so small as to be negligible.

Depending on the vessel that is blocked it absolutely can be the emergency you say it isn’t. Yours sounds like a segmental or subsegmental PE. You were lucky. A saddle embolus, blocking central pulmonary arteries can result in sudden death.

From U:

“…the Gophers said they would provide further updates when they are available, with the permission of Potts and his family.

So, shhhhhhhhhhh.
