The Gophers are strongly considering pulling a redshirt to help bolster their injury depleted offensive line with Texas native Tyler Moore being the likely choice at left guard.

"We're trying to redshirt five offensive linemen, but recruiting is going pretty good, so maybe we’re going to have to take one off somebody to add the depth that we need," Kill said. "Wish I had a magic wand to see when Jon [Christenson's] going to be back. I don’t have that. Ben and Jonah both were slowed. Everybody’s got to feel good. That’s our job, we’ve got to get them feeling better."

Moore was a consensus three-star recruit from North Shore High School in Houston. He enrolled at Minnesota in January and impressed the Gophers with his intensity during spring practice.

The left side of the line is struggling and were seeing a lot of whiffs from that side. If Moore can help us although not ideal to play a freshman if he is the best you got than he needs to play.

Unleash Tyler Moore. He'll tear it up. BTW, with a situation like Bjorklund, I really hate to see him play like that. I'm up for a hip and 2 knee replacements. The stuff ain't no fun. If Oselund is ready, put him in too! Our tackles are hurting bad. Get healthy soon, Jon.
 




While we might have to play a true frosh, I hope it's only a last resort. Case in point, it would be quite nice to have Tommy Olson playing for us this year. He'd be a lot more valuable now as a fifth year senior than he was in a few games we got blown out in during 2011 in Kill's first year as a true frosh.
 

True and it would be nice if Connor Mayes was a RS Freshman. He seems to be playing okay right? Have not heard much about him and Bobek.
 

I kind of thought Fahning might be playing by now? He must trail the true freshmen by a pretty good margin?
 



Playing Moore and Oseland this year would help us redshirt the 4 HS OL coming in next year. Moore will likely be more needed than Oseland next year but as we're seeing in 2015 injuries can take a toll quickly.
