Not sure if this was mentioned yet - but the Teague story is on the Bing bar now.

Found the Bing user!

He was trying to pick up chicks... He is male ... Late night drinking I am guessing lots of men on here have said more than a few naughty things in text messages to women. Unless u are happily married then probably not. I have

Not me. Dr.Don maybe.

Tiny?...........I dunno

Quite sure Teague said the two women WERE NOT employees in the athletic dept.

I think some posters missed that.

I'll look back, but I thought it was a distinction of non-student employees. Not that it would make it much better, but still a distinction.

Ninja edit:
Found it. From Kaler's written statement: "Norwood's resignation follows the report of two recent incidents of sexual harassment of two non-student University employees. I will deliver additional comments at a 12:15 p.m. press conference today. Those will be available at discover.umn.edu at that time."

Additionally, there is no clarification if they were placed within the athletic department.

I wasn't referring to his press con. Heard it or saw it sometime before the press conference.

Also: Listening to Mike Max on 6pm 4 news. Saying Teague was not well liked and really never accepted in the dept. Said even before this incident it was a matter of when he would be gone, not if.

Max said he thought this would be good in the long run.

I was surprised by MM's comments. Hope I got the wording close.

Edit: Also heard on espn1500, several times, the two women were not athletic dept employees.

Regardless of whether or not they were working in his department he is an authority figure at the university. Absolutely no way to justify this, or even soften it.

As much as I sympathize with the guy as I've been drunk and horny plenty of times, can't do it man.

You haven't texted married women after they've told you no and to stop multiple times and tried to avoid you that you want to ***** in their **** with a ************* on ***** with three ********* complete ******** by the time ******* over *** tongue?

True.

I just find it interesting how some people assume things. I have a friend that is the worst at this. His wife and I keep reminding him of it.:cool02:

I sent a text once that said "yes". That is the only text I have ever sent.

Hmm

Found out about this as I was driving across the great midwest. Many thoughts came to mind... Most were negative and worrisome for the program. Then I came to the conclusion that I never really like the guy from the get-go for some reason, so for personal reasons I became kind of strangely relieved. Now after reading this whole thread, in one sitting, I'm really glad he's gone. Good riddance. Great thread-my favorite post was the Shaka Smart mention = well done.

Guy gets drunk, does something stupid, stupid behavior becomes public, and drunk guy immediately plays the "I'm going to treatment" card.

Speaking as a recovering alcoholic, I hope Teague is serious about getting help, and is not just trying to use alcoholism as a mitigating factor. Saying "I was drunk" does not minimize responsibility. In my experience (which includes 3 trips to rehab), booze is like truth serum - it reveals things about yourself which you would rather not admit. I also have a hard time believing that this just came out of the blue. Dig hard enough, and I suspect you will find other instances of Teague misbehaving while under the influence.

There are a lot of that must have more class than you then. Glad you are not part of the U that make these decisions.

I looked at some of the redacted statements on Deadspin from the statements it doesn't appear that the women could be from the Athletic Dept. They were acquainted with NT, but hadn't had a conversation with him, yet one was seated next to him at dinner during a University function. Normally, at these type of events, tables are arranged so that the people next to each other are of relatively equal in power.

Are you saying you think it was another power figure?

This is pathetic. Sorry, but because you are "male" does not mean you have no way to control your actions nor the ability to act like a civilized human being. No wonder so many women have given up on dating.

On a different note, I was surprised to see this story made the UK's Daily Mail. They have one stock photo of the U of M, what an awful picture to use:

Almost seemed rather innocent at first, and then the mega barrage of texts hit.....

Personally, I think the next iOS update for iPhone should have an automatic sensor that can see that if over a dozen dirty texts go unresponded, the operator is sent straight to Tinder's log in screen....

No tihs

I saw Max as well. He definitely jumped from journalist to opinion. He went after Teague.

Ever since he started showing up on local TV and radio, I have yet to see a report by Mike Max that wasn't first and foremost about Mike Max, no matter who he was reporting on.

I didn't read all 22 pages (I'm bad), but has it been pointed out that in the text messages posted, the time stamp on the first string is 11:19pm, but as it continues, the time stamp shows 10:56am? And the battery has been recharged. He can blame this on alcohol, but it seems to me this may have started when he was drunk, but I doubt he was hammered when he continued the conversation the next morning.

Or the woman took screen shots of the texts the next day after she went to sleep and charged her phone.

That's the current time. Not the time stamp of receiving the message.

I've been hammered at 11:19pm and still up/drunk at 10:56. Pretty much a normal day in Vegas. Maybe that is just how NT rolls?

Heard this, immediately thought of our Woody.
