Who do you want to be the next Gophers AD?

Doogie mentioned Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson who is a U grad

Is Tom Moe still in good health? He did an excellent job as the interim AD once before. Might be a good "bridge" and popular with boosters while they do the search process for a long-term candidate.

Interim AD already named. No need to bring in another one.

Chances of this are 1 in 1,000,000. So you are saying we have a chance.

Go Gopher

I'm saying that I hope we have a chance...he is a great role model and mentor for young men and would be a great ambassador for the U, especially considering the recent events.

If nominated, I will not run.
If elected, I will not serve.

With best regards

ME

Mike Max mentioned four possible candidates.

1. John Anderson , current baseball coach who's been at U for 40 years.
2. Dan O'Brien., current associate AD.
3. Jim Phillips, current Northwestern AD.
4. Gary Taylor, former NDSU AD, now at Iowa as the #2 in charge.

I'm surprised Mike Max didn't suggest the Bethel AD or Mike Grant. No thanks to all of the above.

Jim Carter weighs in per Shooter:

From Gophers "M" Club Hall of Famer Jim Carter, a former football star from South St. Paul: "It is disappointing to hear (Minnesota) president (Eric) Kaler say the 'U' will conduct a nationwide search for a new athletic director ... again!

"With all the talent right here in the Twin Cities, both inside and outside the university, why in the hell would we do that again?!? With outstanding men and women of great character and intelligence from whom to choose, names such as Gopher baseball coach John Anderson, Gopher interim athletic director Beth Goetz, former Timberwolves president Bob Stein, Gopher assistant athletic director Dan O'Brien, WCHA Commissioner Billy Robertson and hockey legend Lou Nanne, why not be smart, save time and money, and pick one of these outstanding people?!"

Considering John Anderson has been mailing it in at his current job for years, that would be disastrous.

I don't really have a preference. I just want somebody who is gonna fight to give the revenue sports the support they need and not hire boneheads.
