That "Let me clear my Throat" song after the third quarter flopped big time!

Cracked me up. Not sure why so many people were hopped up to hear that song.

On the other hand, I loved the "Jump On It" song before kickoff. That one works.

give it some time. it will catch on. people need to start "getting down" to it. enough to get themselves some face time on espn and/or btn. then it will stick. :)

it was not loud enough at all!!! did old people complain about the sound level since air force....i didnt even know the thing was playing until the end

Jump on it was great. It worked well with the kickoff/key shaking. Hopefully that one will be back next game

since you are a U student i would recommend that you send an email over and ask. maturi perhaps? let whomever needs to know in the gophers sports dept. that if they pathetically caved to some yahoos over in st. paul that the volume is no longer audible and needs to be turned back up.

i would like to know myself. i still get annoyed when someone reminds me of the few habitual whiners over in st. paul (who live next to the state fair for God's sake) that complained after the air force game about a little noise and that the frickin' star tribune even thought it was worthy to pick up that story.

Sound is lower

I'm sure they must have gotten some complaints about the sound. It was in my opinion too loud before but I think they have turned it down a bit too low now. In the prior games I had a hard time talking to the folks next to me. Today it was obvious the decibels were lower.

weak. can't believe how easily they succumb to some things.

I think somebody up in the sound booth could have nudged the volume up to the level they play the other songs; I thought the volume was especially low on that song ( or they are not fans of the hippity hop music you kids are listening to these days).

I also think they can now bump the volume back up in general now that the rich codgers in ol' Saint Anthony likely have their windows closed and won't be bothered by the major University somebody had the gall to sneak into the neighborhood when they weren't looking.

Personally, our group voted for DJ Cool, and were so excited when he won. We wanted to dance to warm up...and we couldn't hear anything. I think you needed crazy dog hearing to make out the lyrics. Crank it up!!!

the volume was super quiet for the song and it didn't help they were talking about dodge trucks through the 90 seconds of the song they played.

Everyone has this one nailed right away. "Let me clear my throat" had ZERO chance when it was not only played at that soft level, but after about two seconds the PA announcer just put the whole thing out of its misery and talked over the song.

It looks like a classic "overcorrection" and I would be really pissed if this was all due to a couple old farts in the St. Anthonly neighborhood.

I wish people would stop attacking "old farts." I feel like I'm being personally blamed for a lot of things I'm not responsible for. Honestly, I don't live in St Anthony neighborhood and I do stand on third downs and I even sort of like this new-fangled music.

I have yet to attack my first old fart.

Overall, I don't notice a lot of difference in the sound in the stadium. "Clear my Throat" seemed to be played at a lower level but not sure if that's planned or equipment error.

And for the record: some -- but not all -- residents of the St Anthony neighborhood complained . Several others indicated on their neighborhood list-serve that there wasn't a noise problem ... and nobody responded to the U's last e-mail on the list asking for input (posted before the Purdue game).

The U's being a good neighbor but hasn't caved in to the neighborhood. I doubt the U made a lot of changes in the sound system for either the Wisc. or Purdue games based upon my actually being tehre. Plus, I'd hesitate to blame the the song volume on the complaints from a month ago. But those who want to vent about "old farts" or "elitists" will prolly do so without regard to facts.

There was an old movie where a college radio station has a contest where students send in ballots with their favorite band, and they will play only that bands songs. A bunch of students stuff the ballots with an oom-pah band that had only one album. So the radio station plays that album over and over.

The moral of the story is just because you have an active group which pushes for a song doesn't mean that it will meet with widespread interest.
