  1. Iowa (6-0)

Last Week: Defeated Penn State 23-20

Iowa’s defense finally looked human in the first half but then turned it on in the second half. They lead the nation with 16 interceptions.

Next Up: Purdue

  1. Ohio State (5-1)

Last Week: Defeated Maryland 66-17

C.J. Stroud sure isn’t playing like a true freshman and his sore shoulder doesn’t seem that sore. Stroud threw for 406 yards and five touchdowns as the Buckeyes dominate Maryland.

Next Up: Bye Week

  1. Penn State (5-1)

Last Week: Lost to Iowa 23-20

Penn State’s offense sure looked good until quarterback Sean Clifford was forced out of the game and then, well, it didn’t look good. Penn State has a bye week up next for Clifford to heal up.

Next Up: Bye Week.

  1. Michigan (6-0)

Last Week: Defeated Nebraska 32-29

For the first time this season, Michigan didn’t have the lead in a game but ended up coming back against a tough Nebraska team in Lincoln.

Next Up: Bye Week

  1. Michigan State (6-0)

Last Week: Defeated Rutgers 31-13

The Spartans stay undefeated and continue to be this season’s biggest surprise. Kenneth Walker III went for 232 yards on the ground and one touchdown, including a 94-yard run.

Next Up: @Indiana

  1. Nebraska (3-4)

Last Week: Lost to Michigan 32-29

A 22 point third quarter helped the Huskers come back and take the lead over the Wolverines but a late fumble by Adrian Martinez in the fourth quarter proved too costly. Nebraska’s defense continues to impress with the offense still a little inconsistent.

Next Up: @ Minnesota

  1. Wisconsin (2-3)

Last Week: Defeated Illinois 24-0

The Badgers went back to Wisconsin football to shut out their old coach Bret Bielema and Illinois. Wisconsin racked up 391 yards on the ground and the defense showed that they still are pretty good.

Next Up: Army

8. Maryland (4-2)

Last Week: Lost to Ohio State 66-17

Not much went right for Maryland as they got routed for the second straight game. It didn’t help that they played Top 10 teams but either way, they were outscored 117-31 in the last two games.

Next Up: Bye Week

  1. Minnesota (3-2)

Last Week: Idle.

Next Up: Nebraska

  1. Rutgers (3-3)

Last Week: Lost to Michigan State 31-13

The loss makes it three in a row for Rutgers, all against ranked opponents. The Scarlet Knight defense gave up a 300-yard passer, a 200-yard rusher, and a 200-yard receiver in the same game. Now that’s a stat.

Next Up: @ Northwestern

  1. Purdue (3-2)

Last Week: Idle

Next Up: @Iowa

  1. Indiana (2-3)

Last Week: Idle

Next Up: Michigan State

  1. Northwestern (2-3)

Last Week: Idle

Next Up: Rutgers

  1. Illinois (2-5)

Last Week: Lost to Wisconsin 24-0

The good news is that they have a bye week next week. The bad news is that they play Penn State next.

Next Up: Bye Week
