Week 10 had some surprising close games, an unlikely upset, and teams that stayed hot.

Where do teams stand after Week 10?


1.Michigan (9-0)
Last Week’s Spot: #2
Down by three at halftime, the Wolverines would score 28 unanswered points in the second half to put away Rutgers.
Next Up: Nebraska

 

 2. Ohio State (9-0) 
Last Week’s Spot: #1
The 30 mph winds and rain halted the Buckeyes’ passing game, but they leave Evanston with a win.
Next Up: Indiana

3. Penn State (7-2) 
Last Week’s Spot: #4
The Nittany Lions put up 483 yards of total offense and took the ball away three times against the Hoosiers. Freshman Kaytron Allen scores three touchdowns on the ground.
Next Up: Maryland

4. Illinois (7-2) 
Last Week’s Spot: #3
Michigan State comes into Illinois and snaps their sixth game winning streak. The Illini are still in the driver’s seat for the Big Ten West crown, but a huge game against Purdue comes this weekend.
Next Up: Purdue

5. Minnesota (6-3) 
Last Week’s Spot: #6
Down 10-0 at halftime, Athan Kaliakmanis takes over for injured quarterback Tanner Morgan and sparks the Minnesota offense. The Gophers’ defense steps up, and Minnesota becomes bowl eligible with a victory over Nebraska.

6. Wisconsin (5-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #7
Wisconsin looked like the Badgers of old as they racked up 278 yards on the ground against Maryland. They now go to Iowa to become bowl eligible.

7. Maryland (6-3) 
Last Week’s Spot: #5
Maryland squandered an opportunity to earn their fourth conference win against Wisconsin. It would have matched their highest total since joining the Big Ten in 2014.
Next Up: @ Penn State

8. Iowa (5-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #9
Hawkeye freshman Kaleb Johnson had himself a day, running for 200 yards and a touchdown against Purdue. Iowa gets closer to bowl eligibility.
Next Up: Wisconsin

9. Purdue (5-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #8
The Boilermakers’ hopes for a West Division title took a major hit as Iowa went into West Lafayette and halted the Purdue offense. A must win game next week against Illinois if Purdue wants to go to Indy.

10.Michigan State (4-5) 
Last Week’s Spot: #12
The Spartans get their biggest win of the season so far as they go into Illinois and get a win over the leaders of the Big Ten West division. They did it without eight players out due to suspension.

11.Rutgers (4-5) 
Last Week’s Spot: #11
Good news: Rutgers led Michigan at halftime Bad news: They didn’t score a point in the second half and lost by 35 points.

12. Nebraska (3-6) 
Last Week’s Spot: #10
Without quarterback Casey Thompson, the Huskers offense struggled for most of the game against Minnesota. Outside the first quarter, the Huskers would only score three points, and at one point, they went six straight drives with a three-and-out.

13. Indiana (3-6) 
Last Week’s Spot: #13
Not much has gone right for the Hoosiers this season, they have won one game in their last six and now head to Columbus to face Ohio State.

14. Northwestern (1-6) 
Last Week’s Spot: #14
The best player for Northwestern was Mother Nature, as 30 mph winds and rain helped slow down the Buckeyes. The Wildcats did play well for most of the game, but they couldn’t hang around Ohio State for four quarters.
