The Gophers have received a commitment from Moultrie, Georgia wide receiver Lemeke Brockington. He chose Minnesota over offers from South Carolina, Kentucky, Purdue, Miami, Tennessee and others, per 24/7 Sports Rankings. Brockington, a 6-foot, 185-pound wide receiver, grabbed 53 receptions for 921 yards and 13 touchdowns last year.
The only testing metric we have is a blazing fast 11.28 100-meter time in track. When checking out Brockington’s tape, you see all of his speed on display. There are numerous plays where he uses his explosiveness to separate vertically. He’s very dynamic with the ball in his hands and can turn a quick intermediate pass into a big play. Brockington was a weapon in the screen game and could play out of multiple alignments for the Gophers, including the slot. While watching his cuts, I was also impressed with several of his red zone and vertical releases.
