You gotta feel for USC. What were they supposed to do? Find a group of 11 more teams in or near the pacific time zone and play them every week?

West coast teams in the Big Ten makes more sense then West coast teams in the ACC. :)
Or: the NFL playing games in Dublin and London.

Come on people: get with the times! “…follow the brave new world lead of the NFL multi-billion dollar net worth owners club brain trust!…”.

Don’t cave in to ESPN and their little pet SEC league. The college players need to learn how to deal with “…time zone and jet-lag issues if they hope to play at the next level. Coaches and fans do too!

Stretch the limits of the all mighty buck!

Did the PAC fold mainly because the time zone difference reduced their TV visibility and viewership? They had some bigtime schools between football and basketball, not to mention non rev sports, and academic powerhouses Stanford and Cal. They really should’ve found a way to keep it between Pacific and Mountain/Arizona time zones. Stanford/Cal traveling to the east coast for their conference away games is bananas.

Pro teams travel across the country frequently. Plus out of the country. Its about adjustment, but not saying its easy. Its always and adjustment playing on the road.

USC faces four BIG teams at home and travels to three.

I remember Lloyd Carr whining and crying about the Friday night game at the damn Dome to accommodate the Twins schedule. Now Friday night BIG games are common.

That is simply not a good comparison for the abomination of our ridiculous coast to coast Big Ten.

I guess I don’t see Riley telling the truth the same as asking for sympathy

Carr also eventually / uncharacteristically backpedaled on his statements, I assume after someone told him to do so.

They folded because the dough wasn't nearly as much for USC/UCLA there as for them in the Big 10.

They left and the 8 others found better deals elsewhere.

You’re comparing pro teams to kids who are ostensibly supposed to be college students going to class and doing homework.

While it is now common in the Big 10, it's still uncommon for Michigan.

I don't think that they have played another since that night at the HHH Dome.

I asked AI, but we know this is not completely accurate.

AI is stupid.

Though I wouldn't mind erasing a certain 2003 game for the Little Brown Jug from my memory.

USC = The University of Spoiled Children.

Some things never change......(and trust me, that's the nicest use of that acronym for the Trojans).

Many people here are saying "But the pro teams do it!" Not really! They were smart enough to localize the teams in their division and at least keep a majority of games within a manageable distance. Obviously non-conf and other games require Seattle to Carolina type-travels, BUT AT SOME POINT, they were smart enough to say "Nahhhhh, doesn't make much sense to have Tampa in the same division as GB/Min/Det/Chi

The main points of this post:
- Makes no sense (besides $) to have W coast teams in B1G unless there are enough of em for a whole division
-- We'd need 10 more, if we don't kick anyone out, to make 14 per division: almost the size of the NFL lol
- Shut the %^&* up Riley!

People do realize the kickoff timings in college per the B10 are worse right?

Games start at 12 and last kickoff is at 9pm so they can cram viewership. That’s what he’s saying. NFL the latest kickoff outside this dumbass thing they did on mnf is 730. Zero reason they can’t do a west coast team traveling east the next week to have a 6pm kick then be the later east coast game.

I don’t really care about Riley, but the late kickoff times have to also be rough as hell for east coast teams going west

Just having some fun with the stupidity of college conferences these days.....they used to make sense in terms of being pretty regional....but those days are long gone.
One of these days the Tesla Moon Bowl will happen…sponsored by data centers anonymous and Murdoch tic tok Enterprises.

He didn’t seem that upset about it tbh…

I miss the days of coaches going off half-cocked
