WOW: ESPN reports that Maryland, Rutgers in serious talks to join Big Ten

Under the right circumstances, there could be a college bball triple header in the DC area, all via the metro.

How so? I'm not following.

Let's get UConn

Didn't want any more expansion, 12 is a nice number & Nebraska is a natural fit.

That said, since basketball is my favorite sport, and the Big East appears headed to the grave sometime soon, let's get UConn before the ACC grabs 'em. Too bad the B1G couldn't parlay the expansion to include Syracuse (ACC in '13), Pitt (ACC in '13), UConn (Big East), and Maryland (ACC) to get to the 16. It appears that's where the B1G has been headed all along. Da*n, that would have made a strong basketball conference even stronger.
