Why didn’t we want Domask?

Both he and PU's Lance Jones were on the same team at Southern Illinois last year, I believe. There is a large list of overlooked players out of high school that go to a lower level school and blossom. A guy like Domask might've been buried on the bench at a Wisconsin or Marquette, and he'd never have become what he is - more kids should be thinking about this path as better than getting lost in the shuffle at a power conference school.

He’ll makes an excellent living overseas as well now.

If the Gophers did want him out of high school, it'd be odd that he chose the Salukis instead. So let's assume MN did not pursue him at that time.

When he went to the portal last year, he was highly sought after. Illinois had the right combo of an open spot in the rotation and, perhaps the big disqualifier for MN, big bucks in NIL.

Not liking Domask out of HS and not liking him in the portal last year are definitely two different things.
