Hmmmm. I know nothing about him, other than the scores you just posted. So....what can ya tell me? If you want him, make a case for the guy.

Todd Graham is your guy if you want to watch absolutely pitiful defense. I mean worse than Mason defenses. Worse defense than this year. His defenses are consistently poor tackling. If he is giving up that many points in Conference USA, I dont even want to know what will happen in the Big Ten where the athletes are on another level.

What makes this even worse is that Todd Graham is a "defensive coach".

Rice was 1-10 in 2005. They hired Graham and went 7-5 in 2006. He bolted to Tulsa (he had coached at Tulsa previously), and has had great success including wins over Notre Dame (can you imagine the Gophers beating Notre Dame????), Houston (Kevin Sumlin) and Southern Mississippi (Larry Fedora).

His D looks shaky, but maybe with a higher budget we can hire a defensive guru to help.

I have not heard his name and he would not be my top choice but, he is a winner and I have not seen many winners around here lately.

That's because their defenses are just as poor as Tulsa's. Defense is optional in Conference USA. That option doesn't exist in the Big Ten. Most of the success that Tulsa has realized can be tied to Gus Malzahn's stint at the University. They still employ a version of Gus Malzahn's offense.

But others on this board want to spoon with Fedora and Sumlin - but no mention of this guy? I am just throwing a name out there for discussion as it doesn't look like Urban Meyer is going to take the job.

Last coach to come from Tulsa to a BCS program was a major flop.

Spooning leads to forking.

Poor defense has been a common concern with Fedora and Sumlin. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think many people on this board have been too excited with the Fedora news. I don't understand the praise for Sumlin either as his success can be attributed to Houston having an elite QB in Case Keenum and possibly even more as a result of Dana Holgorsen being on the staff at Houston. Overall, I think taking a coach out of Conference USA would be a big mistake.

If this is truly where the search has taken Maturi, its time to tap into a D Coordinator that has proved himself at a High Major.

Edit: Not trying to destroy your suggestion. I live in the Tulsa area and have witnessed all of these teams play multiple times. All 3 are good Conference USA coaches but their style of play doesn't translate into the Big Ten.
