Go Gophers!!

@RedditCFB on Twitter is also pimping today's "trophy" battle. Remember that @RedditCFB really was the one who helped to spawn the trophy as Goldy looked to them to help design it in the first place when he and Faux Pelini were tossing the proposition around.

The ESPN College Game Day crew also just referenced the $5 Bits of Broken Chair trophy along with mentions of Goldy Gopher and Faux Pelini. So is that a double stamp seal of official approval? BTN and ESPN?

It's only official when a grocery chain puts their logo on it.

As our Husker fan mentioned, this trophy will take the next step in acknowledgment when Nebraska wins a game in this matchup (hopefully years from now!) and the Husker mascot comes over and grabs the trophy. If Nebraska wins and they ignore it and it's left behind when they go home, then the trophy probably dies.

Only thing left now is to get a bronze one

What the hell is Goldy smiling about?

Is this some kind of joke to you, Goldy?

The chair waas exchanged by the mascots after pretty much everyone was gone.

Everyone was pretty much gone and out of the stadium and the band was nearing finishing up their post game show.
Goldy had the chair hidden in his tower on the sideline but then Lil' Red I think came over to ask about the chair.
That is when Goldy went and got it out of the bottom of the tower and handed it off reluctantly.

The game was a turd in the second half after the initial stop Gopher defense could not stop the pass and get off the football field. Our linebackers and Safeties were taking bad tackling angles all day. Every time the Gophers slanted or had a missed or mess up alignment Nebraska caught us in it and just hit us with big play after huge play. Now after reviewing the game after being their live, Nebraska always seemed to be one step, one play or always quicker than us their offense to our defense.

First time I can say in the long time the Gopher defense just got flat out played and were in disarray all day. The Huskers offensive coordinator had the D's number and those Huskers made plays. Seemed like the defense was flat and lacked emotion all game, especially after the 69 yard opening touchdown run and one or two play drive. First time I was bummed out by the play of the Gopher defense, they didn't have it today and Nebraska just dominated the line of scrimmage and owned our secondary.

Wooden trophies are bad news. Look at what happened to the stupid bell.

Not in this case. If it gets broken, just slap on some duct tape. More non-corporate, non-contrived, non-focus group tested history.
