Would you change the starting lineup against Indiana?

JMO, I would replace Rodney with Ingram ( plays better defense and Rodney isn't scoring anyway) I would replace Coleman with Wally World. He is going to get lost defensively, but as BGA1 said he gets after it on the offensive side and is not afraid to shoot. You have to keep Trevor on Zellar. I like the fact Ingram doesn't turn the ball over and we really need that now. Also, if you remember Ingram played pretty well during the NIT run. I'm guessing some of you might think Oto over Ingram. I just think he gets indecisive and then turns the ball over, plus he needs a GPS to find the basket. EE might be another option, ( for Rodney) but I'll go with Ingram.
Thoughts?

I think I would go with:

EE
Mbakwe
Rodney
Hollins
Hollins

I think I would give Rodney one more chance as a senior to get some redemption. Tell him he has a few minutes to go out and show that he's all in or Wally is coming in for him. If he is not out there in a crouch playing like a mad dog - he sits and Wally goes right for energy. If Wally has issues- then Oto.

On the other hand if Rodney practices like he's not interested- then go right to Wally in the starting lineup. This move would at least be of interest to the crowd who may be showing up with a variety of fruits stuffed in their coat pockets ready to be fired at coaches if effort is not shown.

Might as well give EE and Wally the minutes, the team is going nowhere anyway.

If Buggs wasn't red-shirting I would start him also.

Insert Mo when you go up-tempo.........he needs the work.

If Tubby is going to be so insistent on his hockey lines, start Line 2. If Line 1 didn't play themselves out of the starting role last night, I don't know what will.

That perfectly describes what I could bring to the table. Getting blocked from behind (twice?) on a 3 point attempt isn't really that impressive.

This is the lineup that I would go with but I'm not sure that I would give Rodney that much room though. We have to have shooters in the game and Rodney doesn't have that game. Mav and Welch may give you some minutes but they are just to slow defensively to play a lot of minutes.

My lineup to start the Indiana game would be:
Hollins
Hollins
Wiilams
Mbake
Walker

Mo may have had the best game out of any of our players against Ohio State and he is a fan favorite at the Barn. I don't think Tubby will do it but I think starting him would bring a lot of energy to the crowd and I don't think there is a much of a difference between Mo and EE, Mo gives you more of a threat on the offensive end than EE and EE is a better defender right now than Mo. I would keep Rodney in the starting lineup in the hopes that he will step up to the plate and think he matches up much better than anyone else on the team with Watford. I have seen nothing from Wally to warrant starting him, yeah he has a shot first mentality but it doesn't matter if none of those shots are close to going in and he is a huge liability on the defensive end, I would rather start Oto before I would go with Wally.

Why change the starting lineup? There aren't any other 5 who could embarrass any more than we are.

Start the 5 with the fewest playing time minutes so far this year, and go from there. Pi$$ everyone off.

Either that or throw all names into a hat and the first five drawn get the floor first.

Oto- Mr. .083 shooting percentage from 3. (2 for 24). I'll take my chances with Wally as a sparkplug factor.

But beej, you take your chances on the OT Forum. You only get so many chances in life, my friend. :)

Oto played decent last game, has better size, and does a decent job on the boards. Wally is lost on the defensive end and has done nothing to show he can be an asset on the offensive end, neither guys a great options but I just think Wally has a long way to go before he can contribute something positive out on the floor.

Start the players that win you games a game before their senior day.

I agree with the original poster on Ingram over Rodney. He can play defense (did anyone notice Rodney's weak defense last night?).
I would go big:
Walker
Trevor
Ingram
Hollins
Hollins

With lots of Elliason off the bench for your man Walker. Let the Hollins boys try to get their shots working and work the ball inside. It makes no sense for guys like Coleman, Williams, and Oto to stand around outside when none of them can hit a jumper. If you are going to have guys play that can't shoot from outside, then at least let them be more of an inside threat.

Oto can not play. Forget about him for now or the future. It's as plain as day.

And Oto doesn't. Wally at the very least as some upside.

I'm not saying Oto doesn't have a lot of things to work on because he does and this whole team has a lot of things to work on, but IMO his game brings more to the team right now and gives the team a better chance to win right now than Wally does.

The point is to put a fire under this team. Everybody gets it that Wally isn't polished. But he plays with a lot of energy and very few others on the team do. It's a wild attempt to catch lightning in a bottle. Everything else has been tried.

I get what you are saying I just don't think it should be a starting role like others have said. I think you can get that same type of thing and create energy in the building by starting Mo and would rather go that way with the starting lineup. I would start Hollins, Hollins, Rodney, Mbakwe, and Mo. I guess if Wally is going to get more minutes I would say they should come from either Mav or Welch.

We very seldom agree on politics, but in regards to Wally I totally agree with BGA1.
If you're going baptize him do it at Williams Arena where he is going to be comfortable shooting. You want to jump start the crowd? Start Wally World.

Rather than change the starting lineup, I'd actually leave them all in for as many minutes as they can possibly play.

The Gophers need to find points, guys who can create and play with energy Dre, Austin, Wally, EE,Trevor.

This is the line up no doubt. Then look at the firepower that could you may have on the bench (assuming this would cause little fires to burn under Rodney and Joes behinds).
