WORST offensive line since....

The OL wasn't this bad last year, and it's mostly the same guys?

The RG is different, but that's because he beat out Martes Lewis?

So is it really all due to the Center? A guy who was/is so talented that he got some reps last year as a true freshman?

I don't think it is as simple as fire the OL coach.

Tyler Cooper was the starting LG at the beginning of the season. I'm unsure if he was still starting, but he didn't play against Rutgers due to injury. I'd guess there's been more shuffling on the OL than people realize.

I am not an OL expert, but I do wonder if the change in scheme has played a roll in the drop off. It seems like we are more of a pro-style offense and less of a zone blocking RPO team. We know the talent is there for them to create running lanes, I just wonder if all the changes have led to more gaps in coverage. OL is the one position that time and experience matter.

Mace had Gordie. Shaw as his OL. Best in my 60 years. Need to find another with experience.

Running zone RPO is definitelt different than what we are doing

Different skill sets. There is a transition

How about the here and now? Every year its the young guys coming up. That group will be what?
I’d be all for rolling them out right now can’t be any worse and they’d be gaining experience. I’m not talking about the freshman kids. I’m talking about the Tony Nelsons of the roster. Get Johnson off the center position. He’s not a natural there. Move him to guard. Other than 69 everything should be in play.

You played right into some guys hands here. The crappy play has not a damn thing to do with what scheme we are running. There are no reasons or excuses other than they are making mental mistakes, which are easily correctable, but have been persistent, and occasionally they physically get beaten badly.

You should offer to be a volunteer coach.

Tough spot all around. I agree our o-line is extremely disappointing but Max's immobility does hurt us because it's just tough to give a guy a 100% clean pocket every time you need yardage.

Change in scheme doesn't explain the sharp increase of flase start penalties this year.

I know I old but, "I my day" we would just go get some big farm boys, coach um up and we were fine. Things are far too complicated now. more_big_farm_boys_by_fatmatt385_dgaqwul-fullview.jpg
