I don't understand this line of thinking personally. If they're good enough to play on Sundays, there's a really good chance they will play in cold weather the last half of the year. I think this should be used for a recruiting advantage!
You do understand a HC doesn't just stand there at practice? With your line of thinking the head coach should never be the one to blame for anything that happens to the team.
Bad defense that game? Joe Rossi's own issue...
Tight Ends not in position? Harbaugh's own issue...
Not Recruiting well? That's the Director of Recruiting's problem...
A Head Coach who is defensively/offensively specialized is not a rare thing? When a HC's background is in a certain position you expect a certain level from them. PJ has talked about how he connects with the wide receivers better because he was one.
At the end of the day when a group is not doing well it falls on the PJ, yes Simon is also to blame but ultimately that goes back to Fleck, and when it is his group that he understands well, its shocking.
