Why does everyone get so worked up about winning 20? With the number of games now on the schedule including 7-8 cupcakes, a 20-win season is barely noteworthy.
It's kind of like a 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL. It's 16 games. 62.5 yards per game. Consistent but hardly overwhelming,

I think FOT's about the only one who makes a big deal about winning 20 games. Doesn't mean anywhere near what it used to, as you so adeptly pointed out. The only bright side I can find about this miserable season is that if the Gophers don't get to 20 wins, we won't have to hear about Tubby's 20-win streak from FOT anymore.

I thought this was going to be about Charlie Sheen. Damnit.

Ouch...That's some pretty fine company there.

Go Gophers!

OK, but Smith and Crum are the only two connected to the 60's and 70's, so that certainly says something.
Do these other guys win 20 if they're only playing, say, 25 regular season games without the steady dose of early-season cream puffs?
It's like all the fuss when Jim Thome became the all-time postseason home run leader. To compare Thome's achievement (where teams could play as many as 19 such games a year), to Yogi Berra (who in his day could play 7 at the most) is ridiculous.
