issue is only 3 top 25 teams lost. Do byu, mich st and Miami drop out? Probably not so we’re probably not in.
 










We won't and unfortunately MSU may drop out, meaning if we win next week we might still not be ranked!

We're now at that point in the season where the conventional wisdom crowd is crafting their early hot takes — which they'll repeat ad nauseam until those takes are (inevitably) proved true or discredited.

For starters, "The B1G West is horrible" and "Michigan State is overrated" seem to be the leading knee-jerk reactions. We'll see if these two pearls of wisdom prove to be correct or are discarded and forgotten.

I know this: if my favorite team wins out, the hot takes will be blown away like dust in the wind.

You may be crazy but you are my kind of crazy. It is not out of the question. I am breaking down film on Georgia.
 

Lot of ballots will need to drop or lower following teams.

(Washington will likely jump Gophs...Syracuse gets new votes...Kansas gets new votes)

Gophs were 34th.

MSU was 11, lost to Washington

BYU was 12 lost 41-20 to Oregon

Miami was 13, lost 17-9 to TAMU

Florida was 18th, edged USF 31-28

Wake was 19, needed Liberty to miss a 2 pt conversion in final minute to win

Marshall was 26th, they lost to BG

App State was 27th, needed a miracle to beat Troy...but got a lot of Gameday hype

KSU was 29th, they lost to Tulane

Miss State was 31st, they lost to LSU

FSU was 32 had to rally late to edge Louisville

Gophs were 34 destroyed CO

ND was 36, barely got by Cal

Air Force was 37 lost to WYoming

Texas Tech was 38, lost to # 16 NCSU

Auburn was 40, lost to PSU

Purdue was 42, lost to Syracuse

Gophs should gain at least 2 spots, maybe as many as 8?

I have a question, not necessarily directed to you but to the board in general:

If Generic Team A beats Generic Team B by a big score, are we to assume that Generic Team B is probably "bad", to that Generic Team A is possibly quite good?

In general it could be both.

For Colorado it's safe to assume they are bad because of their performance last year and so far this year. And Mike Sanford Jr is their OC.
 

I think we end up at 29th in the AP Poll and 32nd in the Coaches.

What about the Gophers and their performance this year? Have we learned anything?

I only ask because we seem to hear a lot — over and over — about the poor quality of the losing opposition, but not so much about the winners.

The narrative seems one-sided to me.
 

I’m guessing 27. Gophers keep getting a lot of love from game day and also from RJ at Fox Sports who has the Gophs at 10 now.

I think people are pretty positive about our dominant performances this far.

We're a good team. Hard to take assumptions too far though because of the level of competition. We've played almost perfect thus far though.

Yes.

Mostly we hear about how bad the opposition is, not so much about how good we might be.

There are some really positive things to take away the the non-conference this year:

— Mo looks healthy. That is great news.
— Our brand-new offensive line seems to be playing well, and gelling together.
— Ciarrocca seems to have the offense back on track.
— The defense looks tough, plays fast and smart.

I just feel like I hear less about that kind of stuff, and more about the lack of quality opposition. Oh, well... maybe that will change a little next week.
