USA Today - maybe
AP - no

No chance in the AP unless there are a few more upsets like Notre Dame, Texas, and/or Arizona St. losing.
 

Here is our competition (in the AP):

23) Ariz St - plays @ Utah today
24) Notre Dame @ Pitt
25) Texas Tech - lost to K-State 49-26 (should drop below Gophers?)
26) Texas @ West Virginia
27) Georgia beat Appalachian State 45-6 (doesn't mean a lot)
28) BYU - losing to Wisconsin
29) Ole Miss beak Arkansas (led by rat-face) 34-24
30) Houston plays @ #21 UCF
31) Gophers

Based on this, I don't think we break into the AP top 25 this week, but we could back in on the bye week with a couple more losses ahead of us.
 


We are going to rack up sympathy votes and get in at 25.

I think they are 26 right now. I don't think they should be ranked, but if they are that'd be awesome.
 

That was a decisive win today. We will sneak in at the ass end of the top 25. I bet it will be #24. Nothing but a guess.
 



They will be by the time the 23rd comes. Not sure if it will be this week or next.
 

Probably not this week unless Arizona State and Texas both lose.

But probably after the bye week.

We'll jump Texas Tech, the loser of Wisky/BYU, and the loser of UCF/Houston. That won't be enough unless we jump Georgia and Texas, however.
 

I don't see it, nor do we deserve it until we beat MSU or Wisc. Not a knock on us, I love what we've done. It's just a down year for the BIG.
 

I think we end up at 25th in at least one of the polls. ASU could lose to Utah. Currently losing late in the third quarter....

I think we deserve it. We've beaten Nebraska, a high octane Indiana, and Penn St. Our only losses are to Michigan and Iowa, neither of which are schleps. It depends what happens to the fringe ranked teams, but an 8-2 BT team should be ranked..

This Utah-ASU game will make a big difference. If ASU loses that clears up two spots for three teams (Texas, Georgia, Minnesota) in the coaches poll. If they win, I'd say we have no chance this week.

We may have a better record than Georgia, but they also have wins over LSU and South Carolina, which we can't really match, and two of their three losses were against top 10 teams. I think they get in over us.

Texas probably will as well. They have a similar resume to us (relatively light schedule), but they're Texas.
 

ASU is going to hold on to win, so I think we fall just outside the rankings this week. But, I think we'll be ranked after the bye.
 


After the bye week, we may sneak in... either way, if we win against either MSU or Wisc, I think we deserve it. If not, we ought to be on the fringe.
 

I was hoping and expecting us to be top 25 after the Indiana game mad top 20 after this game, oh well, if we are ranked after the bye this week that would be okay but still 8-2 big ten should be ranked

Not enough teams in the 20-25 zone lost, maybe after the bye week if more teams drop.
 

It's a feel good story, so they'll get in! I hope.
 

I think, maybe, I don't know. But, I am letting others decide those things over which I have no control.
 

A six place jump would be quite a big jump for a home win over a 5-4 Penn State team. Don't get me wrong, it was an impressive win today...but a win over PSU doesn't have the juice it used to. I say we'll be #26 or #27 tomorrow.
 

They better be! Still pumped over the win and celebrating with a Lucid Dyno.
 

Any other year and 8-2 in the Big 10 riding a 4 game win streak would get you a Top 20 ranking. Then again, would we be 8-2 any other year? We are a victim of perception on the Big 10 - let's hope the conference does better this bowl season. I love where this team is headed and I think Nelson has the chance to be really, really special here.
 

We deserve it every bit as much as Wisconsin does. Both of us are two loss teams, and they do not have a win as good as Nebraska.
 

At this point, I don't care about the rankings. Keep the momentum going and beat Wisconsin. That is all the matters. Let the chips fall where they may.
 


I hope we are not ranked until after the Wisconsin game. I want to maximize the likelihood that the Badgers are over confident. I don't think the bye week could have come at a better time. It should help us to get as healthy as possible, and to prepare for the game as well as possible.
 

Probably not with Texas winning in OT tonight. That puts them 6-0 in conference. Not sure if we jump enough other teams, and enough teams fall out. It would feel good, but I really don't care. Just get the Axe!
