Hunter Register is 6'6" 198 pounds and Rashad Still 6'5" 200 pounds and both supposed to be good basketball players in addition to being wide recievers.
Is there any chance they could pull a Dave Winfield and play multiple sports?
They certainly fill the hole by size.

It would mean that something very wrong happened if any football player saw action on the court.

If the football season was not so long (no bowl practices) this would be difficult, but feasible. It's just not practical these days.

the football players get about 2 weeks off after the bowl game and then the strength & conditioning program starts up again. Spring practice is usually going on before the basketball season is over also, so maybe for a month or two, a player could help in practice, but expecting actual game production isn't realistic. Not to mention Coach Kill would have to be 100% on board also.

True, but if they are capable it would be nice to see them help out. Other schools have pulled it off (UNC, Stanford). Of course, I haven't seen too much of it in the past 10 years.

No. Even if it was realistic scheduling-wise, what makes you think either Register or Sill are good enough to play basketball in the B1G?

Those two are definitely DI low major caliber players plus Croft all have pretty much the exact frame as Morris so it is a little interesting. It's not probably practical for them to actually join the team and contribute but it would be fun to watch a 5 on 5 game against the hoops team with those 3 and perhaps Nick Connelly at center and Shannon Brooks at point who I believe had 23 or so points the night of his in home visit.

Brings back memories of Bryant Allen! ;)

Football players that have been able to contribute in basketball ended up being elite, all-pro type football players. It takes a truly special athlete to make that work.

That's right and he was a guy who was Mr Basketball in Missouri, averaged 20+ ppg and had two cracks at it. Guys like Register and Still have virtually no chance of helping our basketball team. If these guys were good enough to get a schollie at a high major for basketball (which they're not), and could focus solely on basketball (which they can't), then like most Freshman they'd have to learn the ropes and would be lucky to contribute much as Freshmen. I don't fault the OP for asking, but keep this in mind moving forward because it's a safe bet that every time time this same topic comes up for the rest of your lifetime, it's going to be "no".
