We are making our first road trip to Camp Randall for the game in Nov -- 4 families (15+ people, half of them kids aged 7-15). A few Badgers fans, but everyone else Gophers.

A few rookie questions for anyone who has done this before:

-Is the Badger Bash indoor tailgate at the Union friendly to non-UW fans? Completely expect and enjoy some razzing, but just don't want it to be bad for younger kids.

-We are staying 10 miles away. Is it worth doing a shuttle bus to/from hotel, or should we buy a parking pass?

-Any good suggestions on places to eat near campus for lunch on Friday?

-Any insight or suggestions for the trip would be much appreciated!

Just park in the neighborhoods. You’ll walk a little bit but go early and take in the zoo.

The restaurants on Capitol Square are pretty good, and in my opinion a notch above those on State Street in quality, though those on State have upped their games in the past couple of years.

No matter where you go for lunch and/or dinner, get some ice cream at Memorial Union or Union South. It’s outstanding!
