First of all I am poor.

Second of all, this is going to be the best 48 hours of college football in possibly the history of the game (December 31-end of the sugar bowl)

The playoff has restored New Year's Day to relevancy.
Great games for two days.

There is no doubt that the CFP has infused a huge amount of hype and interest. I have to imagine the NCAA will be thinking "what took us so long to get here." And I imagine it will also encourage them to expand the field to 8 sooner than they initially expected.

Go Gophers!!

I said I'd attend any Jan 1 bowl, but now I'm waiting to see if I should wait till the day we win the big 10.

But I don't know if that'll ever happen in the near future :(

Citrus might be the best bowl we see in the next several years so I may need to dive in especially if we play Missouri and have a decent chance to make it a good game. Then I'll have a solid bowl game attendance under my belt and can hold out for that day when we win the big 10 to go to my next one.

Wouldn't be too hard to make changes either.
All you have to do is make 4 of the 6 games quarter finals instead of 2/6 being semifinals.

I am a season ticket holder and go to one away game a year. I have never been to a bowl game and will only go to a New Years Day bowl in a warm city or the Rose Bowl. The game is one thing but I do not want to go to Nashville or Dallas, etc. I think we will soon see bigger and better things and we will eventually see one of these bowl games that we dream about.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will likely get the Citrus bowl. This is one of the biggest bowls we have had in a very long time.

And delay the other two a week to be semifinals.

I think you are over thinking it. Just go to the bowl and have a great time. :D Ski-U-Mah!

I'm assuming that would be the biggest bowl we've ever been to besides the Rose Bowl.

I'm not sure of the price of tickets to whichever bowl we go to. Last year the Texas bowl had some cheap tickets. Many people, including myself, who couldn't go where able to donate tickets though the U of M and boost our ticket sales.

In fact, the U of M is officially making the bowl ticket donation option available again to people this year. Look for additional details on how to go about in the communication the U sends out tonight once our bowl is announced.

I hope there will be some air only charter flights. Having a few overpriced alumni packages will not cut it.

This thread turns into yet another stupid "hey the U is somehow trying to screw us/gouge us" bitch fest by the usual conspiracy theory/grumpy louts in 3.......2........1

That would be great. My wife and I are planning on driving since it looks like all of the traditional air lines charge $500-$600 per ticket which is simply outrageous.

I'm not sure how much charter flights usually cost but if it was in the $300 range I would strongly consider that as oppose to driving.

Thanks for the heads up!! Much appreciated. It's iffy whether I can do due to work. Would still like to support the U though.
