Kind of interesting. I'll take Leidner and give you Lunt. Leidner brings in the rushing aspect that is as important as passing.

Of the QB's on this list Mitch is one of if not the best fits for the offense we run so saying you would take him over Lunt is not shocking because the rushing game is important.

I'll agree with these two statements, but I'll take Tommy Armstrong Jr over Leidner. Throws it just as well if not better than Leidner and is faster/more athletic.

Just for curiosity, but what season are you referencing? We played EIU, MTSU, TCU, and SJSU (Mitch was out for SJSU) in 2014 and Mitch played against WIU and SJSU in 2013. Just want to know where the argument is coming from because Leidner's freshman starts (WIU and SJSU) wouldn't really be comparable to a RS SO starting IMO but his numbers from this year would be more so. And those numbers in the non conf schedule were poor. But he came on as the competition got tougher where Lunt (was it injuries, increased competition) seemed to fade. I'm just saying he's not in a different class than Leidner, that's all.

I was referencing EIU and MTSU in 2014, SJSU in 2013 because he didn't play them in 14.

Lunt put up some numbers against some really bad defenses in a very small sample size. I think if Appleby is ever given the complete reigns at Purdue he could be pretty good. He has some running ability and looked like he had some moxie when we played them.

Almost all college QB's are mediocre. There are only a few real good passers and the rest try to manage their system and make a few completions to keep the drive going. It would be nice to have a Payton Manning as your QB, but you have to be realistic. Leidner is a good enough QB to run our team.

There is plenty of room between Peyton Manning and Mitch Leidner. Leidner is good enough to run this team to last years results, is he good enough to make this team better?

Agreed on Armstrong. With the new coaches at Nebraska, look to see Armstrong improve this season. I caught only a few minutes of the UN-L spring game and Armstrong looked solid.

Leidner is going to be better this next season as well. I expect for him to play more relaxed and thus let the game slow down for him. I anticipate an efficient season from Mitch. Not spectacular, just efficient. We are going to take that next step up.

I would take armstrong. But then someone would clap and Armstrong would fall apart.

Remember when stave completely out played ML the last time they met?

Do NOT give Armstrong the clap.
