Who's going to the Wisconsin game?

Some of the info here is dated, but much is still good. http://buckyville.yuku.com/topic/8428/Visiting-Madison-for-a-football-Saturday#.VGvdtWdNdRE

There is no official "tailgating" lot, but a lot of UW lots, business lots, and private citizens selling space. To tailgate, get there early. Otherwise, I'd hit a bar on Regent Street pregame and walk up to a tailgate (I'd avoid student-aged groups) with some beer, say it's your first time in town for a game, and if anyone would like to talk college football. Chances are you'll be given some more-than-decent beer and a chance to chat.

There's usually something in the Fieldhouse for the last game, which might be OK if it is really cold.

I will be flying in from Denver, CO for the game.

My Dad has had season tickets to the Badgers for 30 years now. He always reminds me that back in his early days of being a season ticket holder with the Badgers, he was able to walk along in the stands with the team as they were driving the field because no one showed up they were so bad! Because my Dad had season tickets during my childhood, I grew up a hardcore Badger fan. Then, all of a sudden, and bless my little 18 year old heart, I decided to get the hell out of Wisconsin and went to the 'U.' Once I did that, I immediately dropped my fandom of Becky and now bleed Maroon and Gold!

I'll be at Camp Randall, wearing my Gopheralls, cheering my little heart out in the cold for the Gophers! I'm crossing my fingers that I will be leaving Wisconsin with the family traveling border rival trophy this season. I'll be gladly displaying that as my centerpiece of the living room for 2015 if we win! Ski-U-Mah!

Here is some info about the event in the Fieldhouse you mentioned: https://www.nationalwclub.com/events/eventorder.cfm?event_id=73
We went to it a couple of years ago. Not a bad option, especially if it is crappy weather like you mentioned. It wasn't real crowded, and plenty of places to sit and stretch your legs if you want. A nice option if you have no place to tailgate, or don't want to be in a overcrowded beer garden.

I'm going with a group of 9 total, all dudes. We got sweet seats in row 3 in one of the endzones (can't remember the section). Should be a good Gopher crowd.

I've been to Madison three times prior and I've learned a few lessons.
1.) Their student fans are grade A a$$holes. Ignore them and just walk away from conflict.
2.) Their stadium is a dump.
3.) Most of the fans are nice (besides students) but I've learned that this weekend is not the weekend to be a brash Gopher fan.

This is some great info, thanks for posting.

Where are everyone's seats???? We are in Section S

Get down there early and go eat at the Great Dane. Outstanding food and great micro beers. It is not next to the stadium as it is over by the capital building but well worth the fifteen minute walk. If that is too far, then try Jordan's Big Ten Pub on Regent Street right down by the stadium. It doesn't look too special but have great food, a pretty open and decent crowd and good beer choices.

I have been to a few games and I agree with many of the posters.....some pretty smug obnoxious fans and a higher percentage of drunk college kids. The stadium is an absolute dump but they tailgate, have open bands / music and do the game day pep stuff better than just about any college town. I have access to tickets but am not sure if I can go due to the holidays. I hope we squash the skunks...that is for sure.

we go to the game

i'll walk with my brother and other family members to the game like we do every other year. We live close to the restaurants on monroe so we'll visit one of those and then head to the game. If it is rly cold most of the folks who go are fans who don't mind others.

I'm in section D row 6, behind Wisconsin bench...Hopefully the Axe is close so I'll be right there to watch Edwards grab it!

It's a great town. I always have fun there. I never let a handful of drunken idiots ruin my fun anywhere.

I will be in the student section! Go Gophers!

Going with a Wisconsin bud and a couple other Gophers.

My Wisconsin friend is big and tall and provides a decent buffer.

We went two years ago and I had a great time and thought the fans were really nice, with the exception of a couple idiots. To each their own I guess.

Also if the Gophers are ahead/tied I am totally jumping around.
