My starting guards would be Nate Mason and Andre Hollins.
My forwards are Amir Coffey and T. Mbakwe
My center is Daniel Oturu.

My high scoring bench is:
M. Carr fire plug, shot taker
D. Garcia, smooth scorer
D. Johnson for defense.
J. Murphy to rebound.
V. Griers all round game.
Sr year Peyton Willis.
Backup C shot-blocker R. Lynch

I love the Gophers and enjoyed watching the players on those lists. However, the lack of NBA talent in 25 years is depressing.
Kris Humphries would be the most talented omission from these lists, but he also of course was limited to the one year and never passed. Rick Rickert too.

Rickert
Humphries
Garcia
Grier
Andre Hollins

Second Team

Murphy
Mbwake
Coffey
Mason
Nolen

I forgot about Rickert. I’d add him to my bench and drop Lynch. Garcia and Rickert are very similar players. Humphries left a bad taste in my mouth. He isn’t on my team.

It says a lot about the program that Pryz played about 10 games in the 21st century and credibly makes this list.

Second leading rebounder in B1G history is on my starting team.
Yeah, it probably comes down to Mbakwe or Murphy starting at the 4. You are probably right that the nod should go to Murphy. They are really close statistically (averages below) and Jordan played almost twice as many games as Mbakwe.

Trevor: 12 PTS / 9.5 REB / 1.1 ASTS / 1.5 BLKS / .8 STLS on 58% shooting
Murphy: 13.5 PTS / 9.8 REB / 1.4 ASTS / 1.0 BLKS / .9 STLS on 50% shooting.

Yeah, I went back and forth on including Pryz or not for this reason. I should have probably left him off.
Oturu's Soph stats 20 ppg, 11.3 reb, 1 ass, 2.5 blks. 56%FG
Pryzbilla's short soph year 14.2ppg, 8.4 reb, 2.4 ass, 3.9 bls. 61%FG

Stats aren't everything, but Oturu was the better scorer and rebounder, Pryzbilla the better shotblocker and suprisingly a better passer. One thing I didn't like about Pryzbilla, was he went for so many weakside blocks that his man was free for easy baskets, sometimes putback dunks, if he didn't get the block.

That's fair too. In my head, Pryz was more of a force on defense but I might be conflating his time in the NBA with the realities of his time here.

He also blocked my shot in HS. Daniel Oturu has never blocked my shot.

As someone else has pointed out, had NIL been available back then, maybe we get Oturu for another year.

3.9 blocks per game was probably top 5 in the country, and maybe 1st or 2nd for power schools! It's not been done in the big ten too often I would imagine.

Yeah, he is precisely the kind of player who that would have made a lot of sense.

Heck, I wouldn't be shocked if they are allowed to return to college now. I don't think there are many rules on eligibility that would hold up to judicial scrutiny, I'm not sure a rule against professionals returning to play for the NCAA will hold up either.

Mason
Andre Hollins
Przybilla
Grier
Murph

Shooting (Hollins & Mason)

Rim protection & legit size (Joel)

Athletic wing (Vincent)

Monster junkyard dog on the boards (Murph)

Sniper off the bench (“Hoffarber for the win. …”)

His dad, Francis, has blocked mine.

Kinda seems like Jordan Murphy should lead off most anybody's team?
Thank you for making it clear how great Jordan Murphy was. I had the luck to be in Des Moines for the win over Louisville in the NCAA Tourney, but could not make it back on Saturday for his last game, when he had to sit out most of that MSU game.

The Louisville game was awesome. I made it back down for the next game against MSU with my Dad and some friends, but it was a state of shock for everyone. None of us realized Murphy wasn’t going to play. I never would have come.
