Hendricks Ekpe could break out. Ndondo-Lay looked good going against Pirsig. Maybe he's in the Hinojosa doghouse since he hasn't been mentioned lately. I could go against conventional wisdom and say Amaefula. Maybe I'm rewriting history but did anyone foresee the senior season Wilhite had?

May have been mentioned too much in the spring to meet the criteria, but I'm going with Damarius Travis. Junior with only two career starts who has the potential to be a cornerstone of the best defense the Gophers have fielded in quite sometime.
