Which highly touted RB will finish their career with more rushing yards for the Gophers? Obviously one has to take into account whether either will be here a full four years, whether they'll be in a deep backfield which will split carries, etc.

Although Jones may end with more yards per year, Edwards will end with more yards total.

Unless the odds are about 5-1, you would have to be crazy to bet Jones. Once he is in school, the odds change.

Berkley will never be a feature back in this O. He will never be a workhorse back.

IF Jones qualifies, and plays 4 years here, I easily have my money on him.

After yesterday the odds seem pretty good that Jeff will have 4 years to play whether it be starting next season or 2015.

I am inclined to agree that JJ's odds once enrolled may be higher. But, let's see this season thru first. It sounds from earlier comments by JK that Berkley will be used in different sets not necessarily carrying the ball.

He may lead in combined yardage. JJ in all likelihood will be the rushing leader.

We are talking a lot of yards between these to young men. They sure won't be getting all the reps either. Things sound pretty positive for Jones now. He deserves a lot of credit for fighting his way through this.

Until Jones is officially in school and on the team, I will say Edwards. That changes once JJ is on the squad.

I say get them together in the same backfield where they can set up some nice retirements.

Assuming Jones makes it into school and has 4 years eligibility, he is more likely to lead in rushing yardage. Jones is (on paper) more of a traditional feature back - 20+ carries a game. From all accounts, Edwards is a change-of-pace back. In Kill's system, I could see Edwards moving from RB to wingback, or even splitting out as a receiver.

Edwards could well have a higher per-carry average, but Jones is more likely to lead in total yards.

Of course, eligibility, injuries and other factors that none of us can predict could have an impact.

And - given that this is Gopher Hole - in a year or 2, Kill will recruit another RB, and everybody will get all excited and proclaim him as the "next big thing." And the cycle starts all over again.

The cycle starting over is what makes College Football interesting and intriguing.

Considering Kill/Limegrover have said the same thing publicly, and considering he did this in the Spring game, I would say you're not really going out on a limb here.

Seems kind of dumb to do this poll when Jone's status is still up in the air but assuming he gets into school:

Jones finishes with more rushing yards, but Edwards finishes with more total yards (rushing/receiving/returns).

In all this though we are making a ton of assumptions since we have no clue if either of them will be able to cut it at the college level yet on the field.
