Alright,

It is NSD+5 and that is a long 5 days anything can happen.

For the fun of it, can you guess who will be the next Eric Decker out of this class of recruits?

The candidate(s) has to be Rivals ** or less. Can be offensive or defensive guy.

My guesses: Isaac Fruechte or Eric Murray.

Off the board. Derek Engle.

Good topic, good guesses. Fruechte said Kill wants him up to 225lb playing weight. That'd make him a road grading WR, who can run some (like Decker). Could be the right answer. I could see Murray developing into a solid CB as well. Keith is a possibility as well. Kill loves him a pass rushing specialist & this kid is going to get every opportunity to take that job & be a star. Another one I like who's under-the-radar as a low 3* is Briean Boddy. If the reports of him being SEC fodder after one more year in Juco are true, then we've got a good one.

I know rivals has him as a 3 star but I am going with Duke Anyanwu. He's just a good football player and he reminds me a little bit of Lamonte Edwards, that he has a frame that will allow him to put on weight and stay fast. I think Duke ends up being a very good TE or DE in a few years. He is known for being a really hard worker and has always done everything his HS coaches asked him to do (moved around to a lot of positions, had no issues when Kill recruited him as a QB and switched him to ATH). I also think he is a way better athlete than people give him credit for. He's not blazing fast, but he is pretty fast for the amount of weight he will be able to carry.

The other guy I feel good about is Cedric Dicke. I've never seen him play football, but I know the kid is a freak athlete. He reminds me a lot of Duke in that he is a guy who is a great HS athlete and he's 6'2" 215ish pounds. Most of the guys you seem doing this kind of stuff "50 box jump, really good basketball player are skinny kids. Cedric is not a skinny kid, and i'll guess he ends up a MLB. When you look at his stats and his highlights, it's pretty obvious that he dominated his competition, and he played everywhere.

I like you posts bob, and I agree on Fruechte and Dicke. I really like mobile physical basketball players to be college FB players. Both McKnight and Decker fit that mold as did a lot of former Gopher players e.g. Darrell T, and a bunch of guys the turned into good TEs and DEs.

Agreed. I don't always agree 100% with Bob's analysis, but I always appreciate the reasoning behind the analysis.

I'm looking forward to seeing Derrick Engel play as well. Will he be a junior or sophomore next year?

Good analogy. Edwards is a bit quicker, and Anyanwu is a little bit bigger, but very similar athletes.

I'll go with Boddy as my "next Eric Decker."
